February 24, 2006 -- Taking aim against illegal guns, Mayor Bloomberg met yesterday with U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales behind closed doors at City Hall.

Talking privately for about 45 minutes, the mayor asked Gonzales for his help in trying to sue gun manufacturers if their guns are used to commit a crime.

It's stories like this that remind me of how much I appreciate the NRA and organizations like them.....vigilance is essential in order to retain our gun rights.

The protection of lawful commerce in arms act is now LAW. No gun manufacturer can be sued for the actions of a 3rd party if the manufacturer complies with all local and federal laws.

Bloomberg may as well go and ask Gonzales for help in molesting children or help robbing a bank.

Suing the mfg. of guns if one of theirs was used in a crime. Tell me where this insanity comes from? What about a knife used in a stabbing? Are they gonna go after that mfg. too? It makes just as much sense. People have been murdered with pitchforks. Ban farm implements? Do people realize why we might be in trouble if there's a nasty pandemic? The only companies capable of making vaccines don't want to be sued! So millions may die. I swear, it's just nuts.

Lets sue auto makers for car crashes, potato growers for French fries, pig farmers for fatty sausage, computer makers for game addiction and web surfing addiction, mother nature or God for sex addiction or crimes, Muslims for 9/11. And don't forget The Spanish Inquisition either while we're at it.

Where does it end? Whatever happened to individual responsibility?

I'm with Lori. There are few, if any, items I couldn't use to commit a crime if I so chose. You can't go around suing everybody that makes stuff just because there are a few psychos like me running around loose.

The idea is to bankrupt manufacturers with a flood of lawsuits.
The only reason I can see for a New York city politician to call himself Republican is financial gain. The thought of any of my money supporting the New York moonbats turns my stomach.

Be sure to include the auto makers for the getaway car, the shoes and clothing manufactures, the city and state for providing the roads, and the watchmaker for any timing coordination. Then, of course, there might be grounds to sue the telephone company, perhaps Google, and any doctor that may have conspired to keep the perp alive. Look into the parents, school teachers, and perhaps the pastor of his church. Don't forget the machinery on which the guns were made and the company that made the cutters or lubricants. Please don't overlook the metallurgist who compounded the steel and the mines from when the materials came. Oh, the freight companies that did all of the required transhipment for all of this junk....

Stories like this remind me that New York City isn't really part of the United States at all. Kudos to the person who thought up the slogan for Pennsylvania's travel industry, which appears on billboards all along the Delaware River:

Let's sue camera manufacturers for pornography

Let's sue Police departments for failure to perform when crooks hurt people.

Let's sue judges when crooks they let go on technicalities harm people.

Let's sue politicians when they fail to prevent the economy from going bad or from natural disasters harming people.

More importantly, let's sue attorneys when people are harmed because crooks are let go or justice is not done.
