In other words - liar, liar, pants on fire.
Ya think?
So GW didn't know about it, but he appointed one of the major players to a government position, but he will veto any attempted legislation to quell the deal, but he only found out about the deal a few days ago.
hmmmmmmmm
Not confusing...its pathetic.
Barbra Streisand. Misinformation a la "domestic spying program". At least report the facts....
It's called "doublespeak". Deny, Deny, Deny! Duh, I didn't know until it hit the news. I am wondering just what the President is allowed to know anymore. We need a Captain for our ship!
We be's in Wackyland!

I disagree with the President on this decision. I do want to point out that the commission that reviews this typically reviews such matters without Presidential involvement. It's a commission that reviews such matters all the time. The President is not typically aware of each matter.
When this decision came to light, I think Bush was blindsided.
Since that time he may have reacted poorly, as is my opinion, but that's the extent of his involvement to this point as I understand it.
I throw in the towel. I can't make heads or tails of this anymore. And I'm out of cliches.
How has he distanced himself? This is just a bunch of clap trap
Follow the $$$$ .......
Union $$ ??
This is looking more and more like a international sweetheart deal for the UAE. Bush is kept out of the official loop, while his immediate subordinates pull the deal together. Then in a PR frenzy, Bush speaks out in a tough defiant tone, giving his blessing to the $7-billion deal.
...and that is not good. The admin. is giving the impression that they are getting cavalier about national security, and are trying to "spin" their way through the political fallout - which gives their political enemies ammunition.
GWB needs to clarify his position here - or there will be others all too happy to do it for him..
It is for me, too.
The President needs his plough cleaned from stem to stern, just to get his attention focused on the serriousness of a situation he can only make worse by the minute. Not only should he distance himself from this problem but he should shut his mouth and not have an opinion whatsoever. Let the Congress critters do their jobs and quit making waves on this issue. One way you can tell how serious a situation is when you find yourself agreeing in principal with the likes of Schummer and Hillary Clintoon. Conservatives should speak with a unified voice in the majority not be linked with all this rabble and confusion. Its not hard to figure this out its the same old problem liberal versus conservative. Make our representatives do the expressed will of the people who elected them for a change, we can all appreciate that. The President will just have to whistle up courage in a dark corner somewhere; or just pout and suck his thumb!!
Read this and realize that our congress is the culprit - not Bush:
