If the nation's top magazine have the pulse of the country -- get ready for another exhaustive week of exhaustive Cheney shooting coverage.
This just in! Both TIME and NEWSWEEK are planning covers of Cheney for high impact on newsstands Monday, with each magazine rolling out top staff bylines and thousands of words on the hunting incident: TIME: With deep reporting by John Cloud, Mike Allen and Matthew Cooper/ Washington, Cathy Booth Thomas and Patricia Kilday Hart/ Austin, and Hilary Hylton. NEWSWEEK urgently brings in its big investigative guns: Evan Thomas, Michael Isikoff, Daniel Klaidman, Richard Wolffe, Holly Bailey, Mark Hosenball and Eleanor Clift in Washington and Carol Rust in Texas.
NEWSWEEK's Jonathan Alter essays that media budget cuts and shifting news priorities have contributed to the public being in the dark about Cheney's ways and means.
The magazine's editor Mark Whitaker defends his decision to push for another week of Cheney-Shooting coverage: "The reason we ultimately decided to stick with a cover is not because of the hunting incident itself-although we did turn up some new details that you might not have read elsewhere-but because of what it says about the mysterious world of the most powerful vice president of recent times."
...Or what it says about the timing and state of print publications in the slick click age of information and news cycles.
Who's a bigger whining biased pansy, Jonathan Alter or David Gregory?
May I use this as a tag line?
Well, if you ever decide to work in Washington, DC you'll feel right at home. This town is filled with elitist liberals who depend on government programs for their jobs and cushy lifestyles. Most of them absolutely detest Bush.
LOL!!! You have a keen sense of humor.
Good! When your enemy is destroying themselves, stay out of the way.
Newsweek should have paid attention to moron Dana Milbank and the spanking the WAPO editorial board gave him over his moronic orange hunting outfit stunt on Olbermann's pathetic show.
this means that talk radio will be covering the press covering the cheney incident......
i definitely won't be listening if that is the case.
THe MSM hates anything will balls. Since Cheney has balls they will stay after him.
These kind of people.
If they do I am going to leave the country. I can't take it any more!
The medicrats are an absolute joke. As soon as I turned on my browser, the headline news story from MSN was "Inside Cheney's Secretive World." From buzz-words like "Culture of Corruption" to "Secretive," the media is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Democrat Party.
This is so ludicrous when you consider that they NEVER used these adjectives when discussing the Clinton administration...which, unlike the Bush administration, included numerous, legitimate scandals that were never fully vetted. And that's the key point: The media is doing its best to create scandal were there is none...while under Clinton, they not only ignored scandal, but marginalized them to make them insignificant.
This was never more obvious than just looking at the way the media treated Clinton's Draft-dodging status to the way they treated Bush's legitimate sevice in the TANG. Unlike Clinton who got a pass, the MSM revisted Bush's service no less than 4 times in the lead-up to the 2004 election.
I can't wait to see footage of Cheney and his supposed "victim" warmly smiling and backslapping each other back down on the ranch. One picture like this could put an abrupt end to all this media nonsense.
While surfing cable awhile ago, I came across 'dumb and Dumber', Maury and Connie (she isn't ageing well!) Connie started her stale take on the Cheney nonstory so I remoted' her that left twelve others watching msnbc this morning.
Bump
I'm waiting for the TV-movie.
Hopefully, the MSM tinfoil hat crowd can finally get their "second shooter on the grassy knoll" and "magic BBs" stories off the ground. The braindead morons in the mainstream "media" have become very entertaining since they all went over the edge.
He aspires to be the Dan Rather of the 21st century.
Heeheehee, they just keep digging themselves into a hole, don't they? Maybe Gregory can manage to throw another tantrum or two, just for good measure.
Yes, and both incidents occurring in Texas. Is this just a coincidence?
LOL.
