The shooting (of the lawyer) was just Dick's first shot at tort reform.
34 HOURS and 15 minutes......
I didn't know that. Thanks for the information. The Dem side of the nomination is Hillary's if she wants it, no question in my mind. Still, it does not explain the pure hatred of Bush & Co. since before 2000.
I believe the underlying pressure is the Democrats realizing how bad Clinton was and their wanting to get revenge on Republicans for the Clinton impeachment.
Carter was a failure, and now Clinton is being proven to be a failure. What's the left to do?
Mary was on the VP's staff during the first term. She worked closely with and admires him, and knows how he must have felt after the incident. She does a very good job giving the time line, makes it personal with who was called and notified in the Whittington family. When she unloaded on David and Maureen it was something to see!
Some of the stories that are NOT be talked about today!

Yes, that dark-haired lass is a real commie, America-hating (looks like a man-hater too) strange-o.
He is a classic Wyoming cowboy type.
My Grandparents homesteaded in the area of Wind River and helped found the town of Riverton. In addition my Grandfather was the BIA agent on the Wind River Reservation for many years (along with lots of other places) but he always got in trouble because he always took the sides of the indians over the government.
I have many relatives who stayed there when the rest of the family moved on to other postings or returned there later in life. My three uncles who lived there for many years are exactly like Cheney in this way except, as you point out, when looking at family. It's really touching.
To give you an idea of what caliber of man we're talking about, I lost the eldest of these three uncles a few years ago. He was in his late 80s. He was killed while riding his motorcycle, which he'd ridden most of his life. He loved riding bikes only a little less than riding horses, but he couldn't climb up on his horses anymore and he refused to use anything like stairs or a platform to mount from, so the motorcycle had to do. Hell of a guy. Dryest damn sense of humor I've ever run across. He'd pull something on you, or tell you a total BS story and it would take forever to realize that he was laughing the whole time. It was in the eyes.
I think they all get it from the indians. Learn about "Choctaw chucklers" sometime. The word "laconic" was invented for these kinds of people. It's a shame we don't see many such people anymore. It's all "show your feelings all the time." Phaw!
My Dad and my late Mother got to take several salmon fishing trips with Dick Cheney and, the times my Mom went along, Lynn Cheney. Having close connections to Wyoming and having both spent many years there they immediately became quite friendly. They had nothing but praise for both the VP and his wife.
If I were a politican, I would never appear on Face The Nation or any CBS program. Bob Scheiffer and his sidekick questioner makes me sick.
I think potato head is Gregory's boss. Timmy probably told him to apologize and then continue to attack Cheney.
Let them shoot themselves.
Vice President Dick Cheney, center, walks back to his office in the White House after doing a television interview, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. At right is Mary Matalin, Cheney's former communication director.
WOW!
Cheney in a PINK TIE!
I LOVE IT! That man ROCKS!
;-)
I must see that later here in my area. The Olympics were on here.
I doubt she classed a beer at lunch time as drinking during the shoot.
Why the picture of Will Rogers with Simpson?
