Good grief, what an embarrasment, Davis has quite the chip on his shoulder.

He and his mom have a hate on with the skating federation....she demands that he be recognized or some such complaint. Says they rule with an iron fist and she won't be pushed around. He refused to join the team race after he said he would. He had to be replaced and we lost.

He's a jerk.

" maybe he didn't want the first reference to be to the color of his skin...???"

Was it? I may have missed it.

Fortunately, no injuries occurred during the grueling match. Those curling groin pulls can be NASTY...

(Man, I bet they could mop my kitchen floor in record time)

Just when I thought Bode Miller was the most repulsive American 'athlete' in this Olympics, along comes Shani Davis to take the gold in that respective category.

I just caught the tail end of that Shani Davis interview where the commentator was saying "That's not the kind of interview you expect from a gold medal winner." What did Davis say?

It's mainly what he didn't say. He had a stone cold look of anger on his face and gave the interviewer extremely short answers such as (paraphrasing):

"You just won the gold medal. What a great effort. How do you feel? What was going through your mind?"

"I feel fine." (emotionless stare)

... and on from there in similar fashion.

It wasn't. I think it was the 3rd or 4th question (of about 5) and it would have been silly not to mention it.

He should just put a post it on his forehead that says, "I hate America, I hate whitey."

Yes, but that is one of the things I like about him! :] Besides his boyish good looks and go for broke style. He either crashes while he is winning- or crashes while he is losing... I am just tickled by him. :]

Now that fancy pants in figure skating~ Weir, is a whole other story.....

You've got to be kidding me.

Brian Rolston is one of the top scorers in the league.

Scott Gomez and Brian Gionta are two-thirds of the top line on the New Jersey Devils (Patrik Elias -- a Czech who is one of the top wings in the NHL -- is the other). Brian Rafalski is the team's best defenseman.

Jason Blake and Mark Parrish are two of the leading scorers on the NY Islanders.

Chris Drury is the first-line center on the Buffalo Sabres.

No kidding.....I hope he tests positive for drugs or something....he can take his attitude and stuff it.

All athletes carry their countrys flag around after winning the gold....not Shani. Or if he did, it wasn't shown. Just him skating around.

What a tool...

How is he going to fit the medal over the chip sitting on his shoulder?

Yep, we've got a damn good team comprised of top NHLers. .....and they're playing well -- winning almost every faceoff, getting good goaltending, playing good D, getting tons of shots on goal. Problem is, the puck just isn't finding the net. .....but it will.

He might be amusing if he lived up to his hype. So far, he's been a joke. A bad joke.

Appears to me he's just taking up space of an athlete that is actually serious about competing....but to each his own.

I saw his race...I was so disappointed that the skater from Texas didn't do better...

Davis grew up an only child of a single mother...he hasn't learned to share, obviously...but, you would think that he would want to have a relationship with the rest of the American team...

He is from Chicago area...where Jesse Jackson has a lot of pull...I bet his MOM is a Jackson fan..and has swallowed his "hate whitey" garbage..and passed it to her son.

I don't see the big deal- it's not like most of his teammates wouldn't have done the same thing- maybe not Cheek, who seems like a genuinely nice person and very generous giving his bonus to charity. But skating is not a team sport, and these guys are here for themselves, not for their country.
