Will They Go to Court? (191 comments )
READ MORE: Dick Cheney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Scooter Libby, Valerie Plame
So, I suppose the question is...what kind of civil trial will we see, or not see, between Cheney and Whittington? Whittington is certainly no stranger to a court room and to civil litigation. Will Cheney pay him off, preemptively? Will they go to court? I would imagine if a guy with a few beers in him shoots you in the face on a hunting trip, how could you turn down that opportunity?
What would Cheney do about the whole secrecy thing then? I mean, this is the guy that sicced Enron on Gray Davis and the state of California to embarrass Davis, trigger the recall and then watched Arnold Schwarzenegger become governor of California. (To this day, perhaps, still the low point in American political life.) Then Cheney covered it up.
Cheney's the guy who told Libby to out Valerie Plame. The rumor I heard is that someone yelled, "Look out! Shooter!" and Cheney thought he said Scooter and fired in that general direction.
Cheney is a terrorist. He terrorizes our enemies abroad and innocent citizens here at home indiscriminately. Who ever thought Harry Whittington would be the answer to America's prayers. Finally, someone who might get that lying, thieving Cheney into a courtroom to answer some direct questions.
Same for the usual suspects, including Richard Dufus. But, I'll watch "American Graffiti" because he was too young to realize what an idiot he would grow up to be.
When was the last time this guy made a movie? The last one I remember was "The Shadow" (1994) and that sucked out loud.
A has-been and used-to-be.
Maybe Alec Baldwin would have custody of his children if he didn't beat them and his wife like the coked-out washed up low life he is. I wonder if he was wearing his wife-beater undershirt when he posted his unoriginal tirade full of liberal cliches. At least Dick Cheney never lost custody of his children for being an abusive loser.
One word: Gerbil
Man o' man, does that guy look uncomfortable in his own skin or what?? Can he suck that stomach in any harder? lol
He played a beer swilling self-absorbed lying jerk.
He is still in major films, which is one reason why I don't watch many hollywood films.
I never do and you can take that to the bank, lol.
Looks like someone who would beat his wife.
You are right. I try to be very particular on how I spend my entertainment dollars so as to avoid giving it to these creeps. Thankfully there are movie critics out there without big thumbs that can usually give analysis that helps keep me away from these creeps. I loved "The Hunt For Red October". Sean Connery is a cool old guy like me, but I do wish the Alec Baldwin character could have been played by someone like Tom Selleck or Gary Sinese or some other manly man.
That was Richard Gere.
I knew he was an idiot even in that one.
With all these Hollyweird types, you never know.
DCPatriot: Baldwin is a moron.
Baldwin was a woeful miscast in 'Red October'. Ford did a much better job with the 'Jack Ryan' character.
World: 'Alec Baldwin isn't an actor'
Yea - We can't have that!
I found this on IMDB.com. Baldwin really sounds like he is an insane, paranois psychpath.
Basinger/Baldwin Court Battle Over
15 December 2005 (WENN)
Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin's epic two year custody battle for their daughter has come to an apparent end after a hearing in a Los Angeles court. The screen stars have been locked in vicious on/off custody proceedings over their 10-year-old daughter Ireland since January last year. Baldwin dragged his ex back into court last month after claiming she had violated a court-imposed custody order this summer. The actor also accused Basinger of turning his daughter into a spy, Claiming she phoned her mother too frequently when staying with her father - to "report" on his actions. But a media-free hearing at the start of the week has reportedly closed the case, although details of the settlement have yet to be revealed. Basinger's lawyer Neal Hersh said, "Kim is respectful of what the judge did. We're hopeful this will be the end of it." An attorney for Baldwin, who did not attend the court meeting, defended her absent client's rigorous pursuit of fair custody, saying, "(Baldwin) has a right to parent his daughter. When he comes to court, it's because he feels it's an important issue that needs attention." The actor has allegedly spent over $1 million fighting the case.
Basinger "Brainwashing" Daughter with Chocolate Bars
12 December 2005 (WENN)
Actress Kim Basinger is tempting her daughter away from her father by plying the youngster with chocolate, ex-husband Alec Baldwin has alleged in court. The screen star pair are locked in a vicious custody battle over their 10-year-old daughter Ireland, but Baldwin is convinced the LA Confidential actress is employing underhand tactics to keep her. He accuses Basinger in court papers of bribing Ireland with specially-made chocolate bars boasting manipulative messages to her on their wrappers. One example, which Baldwin has included in his legal suit as Exhibit C, reads: "To my daughter Ireland, who gave me the strength, courage and tenacity to stand up for myself... Mom." Baldwin claims, "The false message she continues to send our daughter is that she needs protection from her father." The actor dragged his ex back into court last month after claiming she had violated a court-imposed custody order this summer. The case continues.
