Libyans protesting the Prophet Muhammad cartoons set fire to the Italian consulate in Benghazi on Friday in a riot that killed at least 10 people, an Italian diplomat said.
Libyan security officials said 11 people were killed or wounded during the six-hour riot when police firing bullets and tear gas tried to contain more than 1,000 demonstrators hurling rocks and bottles. The casualties included police officers, but the officials declined to say how many people had died.
Italian diplomat Domenico Bellantone said between 10 and 11 people had died, and all were Libyan _ either police or protesters. He spoke after the Libyan interior minister had briefed the Italian ambassador to Tripoli on the riot.
My granddaughter is not going to wear a burka, no matter how many, or who, I have to shoot to prevent it.
I was thinking along the same lines.
The Modern World should perpetually run a round-robin of cartoons, Koran-flushing, and Gitmo videos until they all kill themselves.
Re: Post #41 photo
It occurs to me that these guys are really, really ugly.
No wonder they put their women in bags.
Peach, it is IMHO.
What I think is a core concept missed by almost everyone is that ISLAM is not a religion, but a type of government called a theocracy and as such seeks to establish a worldwide caliphate. The sooner we stop calling it a religion the better. ISLAM is a direct threat to the very core of a democracy or any other sovereign government.
LOL
I think you're exactly right.
Did the embassy staf get out? Where did they go? curious
"Is it ever going to stop?"
When enough mooselimbs are dead it will.
I swear with the Clintons, it's either follow the money, or he's bucking for a UN job or both.
I think you're right. If you look at the history of Islam, I don't think this is new. We're just waking up to it. I took some courses in Renaissance and Medieval literature several years before 9/11. The thing that kept hitting me was the perception of so many writers of that period of Muslims, or "Saracens" as the enemy. I wondered about it then, then began to see world history differently after 9/11.
Yep .. I saw it
I'm sure the Dems with defend them also
1 - Muslims and the rest of the world will never actually be able to live in the same country together.
2 - Muslims are retarded.
Yeah, "Italia" sounds just like "Danmark". Plus, Italians and Danes tend to look a lot alike.
The press are cowards. They had no problem showing "piss Christ". I want to see pictures of the offending tee shirts. I might want to buy one.
I die a little bit inside every day without my Leslie by my side...*sob*
Oh. That was probably a rhetorical question, wasn't it?
Me, too. Especially my opinion on the Crusades. If what they experienced then is equivalent to what we're experiencing now, they were completely justified, IMO. It wasn't a religious war, it was a matter of survival; not only literally in fearing for their lives but culturally as well.
Well, I think it was very much a religious war, because in the Middle Ages, just about everything was religious. It was two religions fighting against the other. I truly think that the Crusades was a matter of survival for the west. And I think it was encroachment on the part of the Muslims. Maybe not all of them, but by the leaders. They kinda got dragged into it in the beginning, but it became a fight over religious and power hegemony.
Yes, they are placing -- and breeding -- their army in the host countries. Did you see that Italy is paying 1000 Euros to anyone having children? And that the 'Ali-Babas', as the Northern Minister called them, are applying for it? But he was refusing their requests.
Isn't he the guy who got fired yesterday??
