The president went to Dublin, Ohio, to attend a meeting on health savings accounts. Al Hubbard, Director of the National Economic Council, answers questions on this topic on "Ask the White House."
Brit Hume interviewed the vice president today about the hunting accident; the conversation will be on Special Report, Fox News, at the usual air times tonight. The vice president called the day of the hunting accident "one of the worst days of my life." Harry Whittington is doing "extremely well" a day after he suffered a minor heart attack, doctors said. He is sitting up, eating, and doing some work while remaining in the hospital.
Mrs. Bush spoke about women and heart disease during a visit to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
There are some late photos from last night's Valentine's Day dinner at the White House.
Welcome to Sanity Island!
I wasn't even born when Ronald Reagan was elected and I was only five when he left office. When President Bush was elected in 2000, I was 17. I'm 22 now and perfectly content with my "crush" on an older man :) I've always liked older guys tho usually not as much older.
I have NEVER seen the Vice President that shaken.
This is very personal for him. The press needs to give the man some space. Hume did an EXCELLENT job.
I seem to be in the minority on loving that dress she wore last night. I first saw it from one of the second inaugural balls and she stood regally and the lighting and camera angle made the gown look very flattering on her. I love the way it appears multi-colored. If someone saw it for the first time on tonight's Dose, I could see why it wouldn't look so well. I imagine it looks a lot better in person, as the fabric is one of those that the camera can't capture as well as the human eye.
After it was taped but before the interview aired, Shep Smith interviewed Brit and Brit said the VP was clearly shaken by the accident, and was, to this time, still shaken by it.
Brit was very respectful and *shock to the media hounds* was still able to ask the right questions and get the facts.
Journalists: take a clue.
I think it looks great. There's very little that I think looks bad on Laura and that dress isn't included.
Everyone, read that link Howlin put up. It will make your day!
I completely agree with that. The camera is not the fairest tool in the world. And I don't remember it.
But different taste is what makes this world interesting! So I'm really glad you like it.
Amen. Brit is my hero. My only trusted source for news.
Well, my main source for news I trust.
Something like that. ; ).
Evening!
I heard some of it, but will have to catch the pics tonight on the replay.
What's your take, snugs?
I like the dress but then I like that type of material
Love this line from the article:
"They say they thought the dark-haired girl [Barbara Bush] ... has what one of them calls puzza sotto il naso, which is to say the look of someone who has smelled something foul [when the two Italian guys tried to chat up her and her friend]."
Thanks for the link.
Hey Gretchen! Love our President, love our VP - prayers and kudos to them both! (Thanks for posting) :)
Thanks for posting the photos of our VP.
He does not do touchy-feely. But it's clear that he is torn up over this. He doesn't need the salivating vultures circling him.
Ah. That would do it all right.
I love shimmery / shiny things. For example, shimmery gold threads in a tapestry really catch my eye. To me they give life to what surrounds me and I enjoy the play of light on them.
wow, Michael Feinstein is short.
