But...I am biased because I don't care for shimmery/shiny things. The color is very nice.

Ah. That would do it all right.

I love shimmery / shiny things. For example, shimmery gold threads in a tapestry really catch my eye. To me they give life to what surrounds me and I enjoy the play of light on them.

Polly, we were a bit shocked when we first saw the designer's sketch of Laura's multi-colored dress with the short sleeves. But then we learned that the ball was a down-home sort of event, and Laura's dress represented that style. It was to pay homage to America's heritage. The shimmer of the material gave it a bit of glamour.
