The president went to Dublin, Ohio, to attend a meeting on health savings accounts. Al Hubbard, Director of the National Economic Council, answers questions on this topic on "Ask the White House."
Brit Hume interviewed the vice president today about the hunting accident; the conversation will be on Special Report, Fox News, at the usual air times tonight. The vice president called the day of the hunting accident "one of the worst days of my life." Harry Whittington is doing "extremely well" a day after he suffered a minor heart attack, doctors said. He is sitting up, eating, and doing some work while remaining in the hospital.
Mrs. Bush spoke about women and heart disease during a visit to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
There are some late photos from last night's Valentine's Day dinner at the White House.
Welcome to Sanity Island!
Would this title, at Darth's link,
"The Texas Wyoming Ball will be at the Convention Center in Hall B."
be the same as the Texas Black Tie and Boots Ball?
Gary was just hanging around in the hospital coffee shop and Eric got to talk with him. He said he was a really neat person.
THANKS for the great Dose, Gretchen (been lurking a while here).
I haven't stopped praying for him. Hearing him in the interview with Brit made me weep.
She was going back to the cabin, and he saw her moving in the brush, and shot.
Can you imagine how horrible that would be??
Continued prayers for VP Cheney and Mr. Whittington.
Thank you for making the lovely photos available to us all today! This thread truly is always an island of sanity!
Prayers that Mr Whittington will soon be out of the hospital and back to his normal daily routine both for his sake and for the Vice President's. And of course Mrs Armstrong's she must feel bad about this incident seeing as the shoot was held on her property.
Just got home from my son's basketball game -- WE WON!
Love the photos of the President and First Lady from last evening's Valentine's dinner! [The photo of our 'smiling' President waving to the balconey from his helicopter (post#3) suggests to me that he and Laura had a VERY happy Valentine's Day/Night!]
The President visited Ohio today; unfortunately for me he gave his speech in Columbus rather than Cincinnati!

I had to leave for my son's game before the VP's interview with Brit . . . I plan to watch the re-broadcast at midnight. [My heart aches for our "shaken" VP; he will be in my prayers tonight!]
Night all . . . I'm off to finish the laundry and get the kids in bed!
Good night Deb off to be soon myself
I have no idea. Just know she does nice work!
Thank you, Peach, for the transcript of Cheney and Brit. I was unable to watch it, and truly appreciate knowing just what was said. Prayers for VP Cheney and his friend.
Columbus! Bummer! (So near and yet so far.....)
(And I agree with your assessment of the reason for the happy faces on BOTH persons in the First Couple today, Deb....... ;)
I'm hanging around until midnight so I can watch it, but I appreciate the transcript as well, Peach!
I didn't see the Cheney interview, but I did listen to it, and I'm my opinion I heard a man who is deeply distraught over this tragic accident.
I can't imagine what it must be like to have accidently shot a good friend. After all Cheney knows his whole family and knows how much this accident has effected them. I wish more people in the media were as gracious as Mr. Wittington has been since this happened. Today he said he didn't understand what all the "Hoopla" was about, and some snide reporter shouted back at the Hospital spokesman... "HOOPLA??" as if it was a Capital Offense
I hate the Liberal Media and I ask all of you to pray for VP Cheney and his friend Mr. Wittington
Good Evening OWF :-)
I'm gonna record it :-)
In watching parts of the interview today (still waiting for the whole thing), I have never seen a man so obviously filled with grief.
What the press has done to this good, GOOD man is inexcusable. I know I use the word often, but it is so accurate...........the left is EVIL. There is no humanity left in them. They are ghouls and jackals, and I pray that every person in America sees them for what they are.
I pray for a rapid recovery for Harry Whittington so that he can stand before the media and say, "SHAME on you for what you have done to my dear friend, Dick Cheney!"
LOL! This is getting to be a habit with you, isn't it? :)
