A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 2.15.06

The president went to Dublin, Ohio, to attend a meeting on health savings accounts. Al Hubbard, Director of the National Economic Council, answers questions on this topic on "Ask the White House."

Brit Hume interviewed the vice president today about the hunting accident; the conversation will be on Special Report, Fox News, at the usual air times tonight. The vice president called the day of the hunting accident "one of the worst days of my life." Harry Whittington is doing "extremely well" a day after he suffered a minor heart attack, doctors said. He is sitting up, eating, and doing some work while remaining in the hospital.

Mrs. Bush spoke about women and heart disease during a visit to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

There are some late photos from last night's Valentine's Day dinner at the White House.

Imagine how Cheney feels, putting himself in Whittington's hospital bed, knowing the vulture media are circling around the hospital, writing (and probably saying on TV) that Cheney faces a grand jury if Whittington dies.

Okay, which is worse: his hunting buddy possibly dying, or Cheney talking to a grand jury if the man died?

Ask the media, get the wrong reply. Fox News excepted.

"I wasn't even born when Ronald Reagan was elected and I was only five when he left office. When President Bush was elected in 2000, I was 17. I'm 22 now and perfectly content with my "crush" on an older man :) I've always liked older guys tho usually not as much older."

Despite the fact that it makes me 'older than dirt' I am grateful I was of an age to remember Ronald Reagan. He was one of a kind. If you have any interest in knowing him, read "When Character Was King" by Peggy Noonan. It is a great book.

But if you're going to have a crush at 22 on a much older man - you picked the best!

In real life, outside of crushes, I've decided that I will look at men 10 years older or 10 years younger - I figure that gives me a generation of men!

As I would expect he came over as truthful, sincere, caring and also not worrying about the PR aspect of the whole situation.

I liked the bit where he nailed the White House Press Corp as it being about them and being sore they did not get the press release.

Hi Libertina. Good to see you, and you're welcome.

I wish the libs had an ounce of an idea how much Cheney loves his country, his president, and what this administration is laying out so much time and effort to achieve.

I wish I could remember President Reagan. I've read a lot about him and probably would love him even more if I was old enough to remember his presidency. As it is, I think he was one of the greatest presidents we've ever had.

I have great taste in guys :) Lol. In real life, I actually tend to stick closer to my own age. I've never actually dated a guy more than a few years older than me.

Snijders and the other Design team members have a lot of enthusiasm, great ideas, and a "can do" attitude which I find entertaining and uplifting. I've only seen one room he did that I thought was a lost cause but that was because of the size of the room and what the teenage girl wanted to do with it.

***That is a much better angle on that dress. But I am still not sure if I like it.***

Polly, we were a bit shocked when we first saw the designer's sketch of Laura's multi-colored dress with the short sleeves. But then we learned that the ball was a down-home sort of event, and Laura's dress represented that style. It was to pay homage to America's heritage. The shimmer of the material gave it a bit of glamour.

"I have great taste in guys :) Lol. In real life, I actually tend to stick closer to my own age. I've never actually dated a guy more than a few years older than me."

At my age, finding them older and still "healthy" is a challenge! But I have made two "errors in judgment" (some people call them marriages) and am not looking to make another. I live alone and am quite unattached - and right now, love it that way. But I haven't written love off - I am, as Kathleen Turner says in Romancing the Stone, a hopeful romantic.

I think when you're young, an age difference is much more difficult and uneasy than as you get older. 10 years in a gulf between 20 and 30 - but a little crevice between 50 and 60! At least, that's how I see it!

Just go out with a guy that thinks you're the best and treats you that way - age is superfluous then! Oh my gosh - I am sounding like Dear Abby! It's us older women, we tend to "tend"! Just tell me to stop if I have gone too far!

Lol no problem. Right now, I don't meet many guys. (I'm at an all girls school.) But I'm always on the lookout for a nice guy with a sense of humor. I've always been a hopeless romantic but I don't want to jump into anything too soon. Quite a few girls I know and grew up with are getting married or have gotten married. I don't want to end up like two of my cousins, one who's 29 and divorced once and the other 32 and divorced twice. When I get married, it's going to be forever.

Do you know if Candice's show pays for the remodeling? Her work is awesome / high end and to my knowledge they've never said how much her reno's cost. She dazzles my interior design meter.

The fact that you don't want to jump too soon and you're looking for the right things (nice, sense of humor, commitment) tells me that you will indeed have a marriage that lasts forever! I truly pray so. A bad marriage is just about the worst thing on earth - but a good one is worth gold. My parents had celebrated their 62nd anniversary a month before my daddy died two years ago. They had the best marriage I have ever seen - just extraordinary - and though my mama is 83 and managing life pretty well, a piece of her is gone and she misses him every minute. His happiness was complete when she was happy.

I hope and pray that is what you - and everyone - will find one day.
