I just heard from a local radio reporter (during Rush newsbreak at approximately 1:00 p.m) that Whittington "may have taken a turn for the worse," and was put back into intensive care.

Dick Cheney can ride shotgun with me anytime. I'd rather have him watching my back than any other politician I can think of.

Fox News gets breaking news wrong virtually 100% of the time. It's a mistake to think that Fox News is a reliable place to get correct information when things are breaking.Agree 100% Their drive for ratings interferes with their accuracy. You can't depend on Fox if you want the truth.

These reporters are berept of any general knowledge. Even I, an old lady in the boonies, knows human anatomy and a bit about hunting and ammunition.

A pellet wouldn't just start migrating through tissues and membranes a couple days after the fact.
A "magic pellet" like the bullet in Dallas?
I hate to say this, but this whole thing is starting to smell fishy.

The reporterette on Fox keeps saying "This changes the political landscape."
It's probably a good thing that I don't have a gun right now.

The writer was so excited to get the bad news out that he or she did not want to waste time on proofreading.

The birdshot traveling to this man's heart can be fatal.
It would have the same affect as a blood clot/occlusion on his coronary arteries but in this case anticoagulants won't dissolve the blockage and they can't "stent" the blockage - I would wonder if they could attempt to surgically remove this.
A cardiac arrthymia could be fatal for this poor man.
Cheney most likely is distraught over this I would think.

"You can't get BB shot in a .28 gauge shell.

Not commercially. You could load them yourself, though. You could even do buckshot, although I can't imagine why you'd want to.
Commercial 28 gauge shot shells are limited pretty much to 7 1/2, 8, and 9 shot. The local Fleet Farm here only has 8.
