The blizzard watch is now in effect from Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
Snow will begin by early Saturday evening... and become heavy at times Saturday night. Northeast winds will also increase Saturday night to 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph... causing blizzard conditions along with considerable blowing and drifting of snow.
By the time the snow ends late Sunday morning... accumulations should average 6 to 12 inches... with locally higher amounts possible. The highest totals are most likely to occur across eastern portions of Long Island and southeast Connecticut.
A blizzard watch means there is a potential for falling and or blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities. This can lead to white-out conditions and make travel very dangerous.

I'm in Baltimore (just West of), in the 6-12 range, although currently they're calling for 4-8 in some areas, and it's supposed to snow from Saturday morning until Sunday evening.

You might be losing power for a few days, so let's run out and buy perishables.
Bread can last for days, maybe a week without being refrigerated. Milk, if you lose power, you can keep it cold by putting it outside along with other perishables.
It snowed in Bakersfield in 1998...and in 1961. It was fun.
Candles, cigarette lighter, canned spaghetti, bottled juices and sodas, meat, vegetables, shotgun, shotgun shells, death threats to anyone who makes fun of those of us who will be hit by the snowstorm, cat food, cat litter....

I don't live in an apartment. I live in a private house in the suburbs.
So I toss it over the fence into my neighbor's yard.
I think that's why their roses won prizes last year.

Wisconsin would welcome the snow. Oh, well, we'll get our snow in April, just when we want it.
Oh, I was thinking of life in a high-rise NYC apartment during a blizzard. Tossing the litter out would be the best option I think.

Being in the 6 to 12 range, I've stocked up on all of the essentials....wine, bourbon and beer. Should be a great weekend!

Some high rise apartment dont have windows that open. So the apartment would have to have a terrace for that purpose.
I suppose you could dump it in a hallway not too close to your apartment if you couldn't access the outside anyplace.
