Oh yeah...and the Marijuana thing is some Libertarian goofball...
Their own commercial ambitions got the better of them. Now they play both sides. They should both be shunned. The informed folks that booed Barr at the panel discussion should be applauded for providing a wake-up call.

Last time I saw Barr at a conference, he had his head together. Now he talks like a salesman for the Mother Ship. No telling how something like this happens. It just does.
Today is off to a little better start.
Perry (TX), with his Bush-like mannerisms kicked off the day with a demand for securing our borders. He suggested that if Americans were not going to take national security seriously, they should just "bring 'em in by tour bus" making an announcement as they step off the bus: "You are free to move around the country".
Perry offered some good one liners:
"The path of principle is long and dusty and all too often the less travelled road."
and
"Let the conservative revolution begin!"
Is Perry a conservative? For the most part, yes, but he is not on the issue of the largest middle class welfare scheme: Public Education. He was honest that he thinks teacher's salaries should be increased, based on merit of course, but increased nevertheless. He supports vouchers and charter schools, but recognizes that just throwing money at schools will not improve educational standards.
Michael Barrone, John Gizzi and Dick Wadhams were in an election results analysis panel immediately after. They are a wealth of knowledge, but cautioned that the media loves to push "trend predictions" when it works in their favor. History tells us nothing about today, John Gizzi cautioned.
They all agreed that a failure to generate conservative voter turnout would result in two years or more of Nancy Pelosi representing America as Speaker. (A collective wretching was heard across the audience floor.)
Funny moment: ACU (operating at their new level of incompetence) mixed up all the name tent cards until, after 20 minutes an audience member stepped over the rope and let Gizzi be Gizzi, not Barone; Barone be Barone not Wadhams, and so on.)
Wonder if Stuart Smalley will show up to punch out Al Skorsky? Should BOLO!
Mike Pence will give the best speech of the conference.
I saw Chris Simcox, Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, on C-Span this week. He is an outstanding speaker. Wish I could be there.
Some would say that's only because Ann Coulter hasn't spoken yet.

Hey TaxRelief, I didn't totally hear the extent of your conversation with the girl at the "Conservative Muslims" booth - I just heard you remark that she wouldn't give a straight answer about whether or not they (that particular group) want to push Israel into the sea. Was that the only thing you said, or was there other stuff too? (I have a hard time hearing and understanding a single voice when there's a lot of other noise going on - sorry!)

Who was responsible for the truck or trailer with the Bush-bashing sign on it?
They brought it to town for the State of The Union speech pots 'n pans protest and the Feb 4th protest.
They had to have paid Big Capitalist Money for it, so they are now trying to get their money's worth out of it.
As in George Soros?
I don't know the answer for that question... whoever is bankrolling the RCP and WCW folks paid for it.
The D.C. Chapter's booth is on the far side of the exhibit hall as we were one of the last to register as an exhibitor. The hall has been busy all day, except for now. Ann is always the big draw at CPAC.
Michelle Malkin was signing copies of her new book, Unhinged, earlier today. It took thirty minutes to get through the line, but it was worth it.
Folks are getting a bit concerned about the pending snow storm. Some are planning to leave early tomorrow, especially those from the northeast.
NHK TV, from Japan, has been filming at the D.C. Chapter's booth today. They'll be out at Walter Reed tonight covering our support the troops demonstration.
Ann Coulter's doing a booksigning after her speech. The empty exhibit hall has filled to capacity as folks line up. I'll have to wait for next year to get one of her books autographed.
The Muslim activists are pushing the whole "civil rights/hate crime" agenda. I patiently attempted to explain to the poor, brainwashed, young woman that "hate" crimes are nothing more than legislating thoughts rather than actions.
They are not fighting for rights for people of middle eastern decent, BTW; They are fighting for rights for Muslims.
I attempted to explain that Jews and Christians are frequently subjected to "hatred" from others, but she thought that was "different".
