That by raising such a loud noise about several cartoons by some who are not even adherents to Islam in the first place, what the men with the guns and knives are communicating is: "It is our plan to take over everything you hold dear - by force. We are infiltrating your societies, we are using your own freedoms against you, preparing for whatever violence is necessary, and then we will have you - so cower in silence as we approach."
So, then, only the courageous will speak out.
