Wisdom, Truth, Faith, Understanding, and Action

Interestingly enough, I grew up in the Western New York area in a working-class Democrat family. My father was a factory worker. As a teen and through my twenties I was a rock musician playing in a number of bands in the Western New York area and in the New York City. (None anyone has heard of to be sure!) At that time I was very liberal, although I would have considered myself apolitical had anyone asked me. However, all my writing smacked with "Why can't we all just get along" naivete. It was not until my wife, who was a newspaper journalist at the time, was hired to help a local congressional candidate with her campaign, that I had an awakening of sorts.

It was at this time that I realized I actually had strong political opinions, and as I researched the issues, I found that my opinions for the most part aligned with the conservative right.

Now, with the emerging world war on terrorism, and more specifically, jihadism, I believe having a deep understanding of the issues and a strong faith in God are needed to make sound and righteous decisions when knee-jerk reactionism is the norm.
