There are 1375 Parties nationwide, and WE are the biggest and the best! Tonight, President Bush, in his STATE of the UNION speech, will discuss America's leadership in the world and share his vision to lead America forward. To seize opportunities here at home, the President will outline the policies needed for the American people to continue to compete in the global economy.
Earlier today, the President sat with Supreme Court nominee, Samuel Alito in the Roosevelt Room at the White House, and watched the Senate confirmation vote as they approved his nomination 58-42, fulfilling one of President Bush's most significant campaign pledges by placing on the Supreme Court another justice who will interpret the Constitution as the Founders intended, and not legislate from the bench. THANK you, President Bush! (Justice Alito was sworn in at 12:07 this afternoon as the 110th Supreme Court Justice)
President Bush also released a statement regarding the death of widow of Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, Jr, Coretta Scott King and met with TV reporters in the White House to give them a glimpse of his State of the Union, emphasizing his optimism for the future of America. He also continued to work on this speech for tonight.
The economy is strong, we are winning our War on Terror and it is a GOOD DAY in America, and a GREAT time to be a Bush-bot!
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose............ let's PARTY!!!!!!!!!
All you have to do is count the years from 1990, when the Soviet Union fell - and know that we will need more ships, more covert agents, more interpreters, more of everything, by the year 2015. The Navy is allowing Rummy to push through some serious ship cuts that the US will regret, but regret too late to do anything about it.
I love Rummy but I do not agree with him entirely on his "transformational" theory for the Military. It is flawed, IMHO.
Being replayed on C-span right now!
I'm interested in knowing the results.
Shephard who???
IMHO they both knew how far to go, maybe over the top for some people's liking but I got the feeling that there was a deep understanding and love between them even if they did not agree on several issues.
I have a feeling I'll end up in Virginia...if I stick around in DC, that is.
I agree
Kristol whined that he did not say enough about Iran and permanent tax cuts.
Hey! Have you heard about your internship yet?
'I would have walked down and belted them..'
LOL! I always tell my husband, the Senators are very lucky I don't live in DC. I would camp outside their offices.(I'm probably lucky too...I might become too known to the DC police).
I wish someone would tell my mother that. She thinks I've been brainwashed.
Headline? Bush fails to walk on water.
I believe, from watching countless reports and opinions spouted by Kristol, that he is supremely jealous that he doesn't get the attention the President does. I really believe that he feels superior to most people, and he can't stand not getting all the attention he feels he deserves. He's one of those, "Yeah, BUT....." kinds of people.
The annual National Prayer Breakfast will be co-chaired by Sen. Norm Coleman, the first time in memory that a Jew will lead the gathering, and at a time when some rabbis have expressed misgivings about what they see as the event's overtly Christian tone.
The breakfast is staged without government funding every year by the Fellowship Foundation, an evangelical Christian group. Presidents from Dwight D. Eisenhower to George W. Bush have attended, along with members of Congress and world leaders. This year, King Abdullah II of Jordan will give the keynote speech at a lunch following the breakfast, which is scheduled for Thursday.
interview that Chris did of Mike a few weeks ago
Did you see when Chris brought up a photo of his
new grandson, Mike" great grandson, seeing for the
first time.
Chris's son and family live in England
I remember praying that God would never make me marry a pastor. I can't even imagine being in politics! :)
The big flaw in Rummy's transformation is that it leave us totally vulnerable to EMP weaponry, and also vulnerable to a billion man march by China.
I have to go to "town" in the AM, so it's going to be an early Morning.
It was a great speech. WE LOVE OUR PRESIDENT!!!
WHAT are we going to do in 2009? I can't imagine.
(I don't feel so confused now. ;)
