Kristol whined that he did not say enough about Iran and permanent tax cuts.

For goodness sake Iran is finely balanced if he had said anything too specific no doubt there would have been even more criticism.

Good night. I'm crashing as I type. Gotta go to bed.
I have to go to "town" in the AM, so it's going to be an early Morning.
It was a great speech. WE LOVE OUR PRESIDENT!!!
WHAT are we going to do in 2009? I can't imagine.

My husband will be very disappointed if he finds out later that we do not have Iran crawling with CIA right now teaching young turks how to revolt.

I picked this up on the long Live Thread. Mark Steyn's comment on the speech on NRO's The Corner site:
This was a very cunning speech in the way it managed to sound lofty and noble while reminding you that the other guys are defeatistic legalistic naysayers. But I liked the implied go-ahead-punk-make-my-day segment on the wiretaps. Democrats are missing the meta-narrative and making the most basic mistake of all: never confirm your caricature - in this case that you can't trust 'em on national security.
