Good morning, all.
Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."
It's all over except the final vote tally.
Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?

Jim Angle on FoxNews saying there's much rancor and bitterness on the Senate floor today which will take some time to work itself out.
Where has Angle been?....LOL

Nah, they probably switched gears already and are celebrating that their movie got 8 Oscar "nods", in consolation.

"-42 oppose....large enough to filibuster. Not a great statement on Alito."
It's not a poor reflection on Alito, but it is for the rats, their voting was not based on reason, facts, fairness or what's good for America, but based on pure vile partisan hatred and it has been duly noted across the land.

Perhaps we should now stop in gratitude and recognition of the role of Divine Providence, once again, in the affairs of this nation. Amen.

The Bernanke vote will be a voice vote early this afternoon.
I further ask unanimous consent that the Senate stand in recess from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. to accommodate the weekly party luncheons, and that Senator Bunning be recognized at 2:15 for his 30 minutes of debate on the Bernanke nomination.
After that, the vote on the nomination, and elevation to chair of the Federal Reserve.
