Good Monday morning, fellow Freeper political junkies. One of the more ridiculous episodes of political theater is about to play itself out on the Senate floor, as the John Kerry-led democrats mount an exercise in political futility which will further expose their total irrelevance..So join us today, or drop in on occasion, for the festivities...
I read this earlier on the DU and saved it, (mostly because I felt I had to read it twice to believe it existenced, heheh):
"Even if we lose this battle today, WE STILL WON...

And let me be totally clear about this, I DO NOT think we will lose this battle.
But let's say, for argument's sake, that there are not enough votes to sustain this fillibuster, WE STILL WON and here is why.
We came together, all of us, establishment dems, progressives, DUers, Kossacks, etc., etc. Things looked pretty bad just a week ago and we spent some time crying, bitching, moaning, threatening, then we got over it. We put our emotions to the side and got to work.
Since then, we got some Senators to come out and lead the fillibuster. Against all odds.
We got true to the bone DINO's to change their minds about their cloture vote. Against all odds.
Those middle of the road, whichever way the wind blows Dems are LISTENING TO US. Against all odds.
In these past few weeks, and especially this weekend we have gotten a very important message out to our Dems here's that message: NO MORE.
You will acknowledge us. You will hear our voice. Whether you like it or not. This is a post-internets world and your old way of doing business is simply not going to work anymore.
But still the M$M toils away as the mouthpiece for fascism. Trying to discourage us at every turn. First telling us there would be NO fillibuster. Then came the two Senators from Massachusetts. Now they are telling us (without any facts to back up their claims) that there aren't enough votes to sustain the fillibuster. And we gave a message to the M$M too. That message is: SCREW YOU.
We aren't listening to your CRAP anymore. You can bloviate away, Tim Russert, nobody's listening. We're too busy calling and faxing our Senators.
So what does all this mean if Alito still gets confirmed?
It means we have taken the first step in taking our party and eventually our country back. We stopped letting the politicians and the media dictate the terms. We stood our ground and showed that this left-wing liberal moonbat Michael Moore wing of the party IS the party.
And no matter what happens today, we can never turn back. The battle has begun and we will prevail. It may not happen overnight, and it's gonna take a hell of a lot more than what has happened in the last few weeks, but it's a start. Now we know how much we all matter. We can never let some talking bobble head or some Democratic Party advisor marginalize us again. WE are the party. WE want our party and our country back. And we won't give up until that's what WE get.
So with all due respect, please step aside, Mr. Elmendorf (link). We have tried things YOUR way for long enough and YOUR way simply doesn't work. Let us show you how it's done. WE are what Democracy looks like.
So take a moment, everyone, pat yourselves on the back. And then get back to work. We have a Constitution to save."
The things losers must tell themselves. Denial is not for just anyone, you must be gifted to believe this.
They're in fighting mode, aren't they, but they still don't realise they are OUTNUMBERED !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't hear his name, but somebody called during the vote, so I might have missed it.
This is... (none / 0)
Awesome. I'd like to thank the "Progressive" Leftists out there for showing the rest of the country how whacked out my party has become. Congratulations, asses. What's next? Do we start calling for public lynchings and fire bombings of all democratic senators who simply voted to let democracy run its course? I am sickened by what I've seen in this thread and intend to change my party registration as soon as possible... or, maybe I'll stay registered Dem to drive you pollsters and door-to-doors crazy.

No. Rules of the Senate require that a Senator must be present to vote.
hehehehehehe
Hope Kennedy is one of those lurkers. Send that to him. Special Delivery.
What a beautiful DUmmie quote in #3,274! Thanks for posting that. ;-D
It'll be even more fun if Alito is confirmed with fewer than 60 votes.
BUMP for your comments on Specter!
THANK YOU! I'll remember this info.
Looks like in the Dodd family, the apple didn't fall far from the cider tree.
Thank you , a great perspective.
Thanks for the link. I noticed a comment that Kennedy had "fire in his belly."
There was a headline on our homepage, today, that Gore has fire in his belly
When will the Dems realize there is no fire in their belly?
They merely have indigestion.
Are they waiting for someone? What's the holdup?
LOL LOL on Fox now..Juan Williams.. Cindy Sheehan put a sock in it..
