Hamas Demands Israel Change its Flag, Concede Islamic Ownership of the Land
Arutz Sheva ^ | Jan 30, '06

Posted on 01/29/2006 6:54:04 PM PST by Fred Nerks

(IsraelNN.com) Hamas spokesman Mahmoud Zahar issued a demand Sunday evening that Israel remove the stripes from its flag.

"Israel must remove the two blue stripes from its national flag", Zahar said. "The stripes are symbols of occupation – they signify Israel's borders, stretching from the River Euphrates to the River Nile."

The Hamas official's comments followed Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz's assessment at the weekly Cabinet meeting that the newly elected terror group was "acting responsibly so far."

Zahar also told CNN's Late Edition that the world should not be asking Hamas to recognize Israel, but rather demanding that the Jewish State recognize that Muslims are the "owners of the land."

I agree.

As I have said on a couple of other threads...Hamas are a bunch of terrorists. There rhetoric and their actions prove this. They have risen to power as a terrorist group and, unfortunately, the majority of the people in the Palestinian areas have chosen those terrorists to represent them.

In answer to the question of "why"...which is the question that liberals and enemies of this nation always ask rhetorically (meaning that they think it is our fault), my answer is simply this:

The hate that Hamas, the PLO, and the other Islamic radical/fundamental and terrorist organizations has spread for decades in the west bank and gaza to their young has taken root. The same thing happned in the 1930s.

Since that is clearly the case...the peace loving palestinians, how ever many of them there are left, had best leave post haste. It is only going to get worse.

Ultimately the whole lot of them will have to be put down HARD (including the ones like them in Iran and Syria and wherever else), just like we had to put Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan down hard and for the same reasons. After putting them down hard, we had to, in essences, start them over from scratch with no rabid Nazis or imperialists left among them to spread their hate.

THAT is where this is heading.

I should have worded that better. I meant that only the hardcore leftist barking moonbats will still try and defend Hamas, but will only sucker a few into their delusions based on weak or non existent facts like they usually do.

Most will call them on their BS.

How does Hamas get the twin bars to represent occupation? To me, it simply helps frame and set off the Star of David. But, I have an IQ higher than that of the average cockroach.

The good thing about Hamas being democratically elected by the Pali's is that the true nature of tha Pali's is now on formal display for the world to see. Grass roots democracy in action, like this example, makes it impossible for the MSM and the world to hide what is really going on in the minds of the Muslims. Now we can confront what is really there and not the false images the PA presented.

Boy, the rag-heads are sure getting uppity.

No kidding and just as I was beginning to lose interest in the PA/Israeli conflict along with others in the free world, now, I can hardly wait for the Jews to begin some heavy duty kick PA ass time.

Maybe it'll be come a reality hit t.v. show.

Hamas is absolutely nuts!

I don't see why the Moonbats can't undersstand them perfectly. Birds of a feather, and all that...

My prediction is public defense of Hamas' actions will become next to impossible for even leftist moonbats, their cheering section in the West.

Hate to say this, but the Republicans are starting to defend the election of Hamas. Just saw Frist on Meet the Press. He said the election of Hamas represents the desire of the Pali's to get rid of the cronyism and corruption of the PA and not a desire for the destruction of Israel. At least Frist said that unless Hamas recognizes Isreal and renounces the destruction of Israel, not a penny of U.S. cash will be going there. Right now, the U.S. was going to provide a quarter billion dollars to the Pali's but it will be cut off if Hamas doesn't change.

"And Mark Warner commented that at one time, Hamas said it was against their "law" to participate in elections...so, they are making progress....hehe"

Mark Warner can delude himself, but he can't delude all of us.

Well...everybodys hero John McCain just said that NO MONEY should go to Hamas...

There...none, nada, zilch.

Now, the leftys will get around this by saying that the UN should help the Palestinians...which we know means WE the Americans...I heard Juan Williams give that opinion.

I thought this was a joke but they are serious. This will not end well for them.

Well, a happy ending would be the one from "Bambi vs Godzilla," the classic animated, short movie. Bambi played by Hamas.

Look at it this way. Hamas and its supporters are dedicated to the speedy elimination of Israel. If Israel eliminates them first, is there some reason to complain?

The real story behind Israel's flag ...
The blue stripes are to convey the prayer shawl, not the supposed Israeli borders:

http://www.israel-mfa.gov.il/MFA/History/Modern%20History/Israel%20at%2050/The%20Flag%20and%20the%20Emblem

"Zionist tradition credits the design of the Zionist flag to David Wolffsohn. Legend even tells precisely when Wolffsohn had his brainstorm, namely, that during a meeting in Basel Herzl raised the question of the Zionist flag. When his proposal of a white banner with seven gold stars failed to marshal a consensus, Wolffsohn stood up and said: "Why do we have to search? Here is our national flag." Upon which he displayed his prayer shawl and showed everyone the national flag: a white field with blue stripes along the margin. "

"The blue stripes on the Zionist flag were inspired by the stripes on the tallit (prayer shawl). The tallit has two separate symbolic aspects: the light blue hue and the stripes. Some say that the stripes are meant to recall the one dyed strand of the ritual fringes (tzitzit). This leads to the significance of the hue itself. According to the Torah, one strand in the tzitzit should be light blue. To judge from references in the Talmud, it was a shade between green and blue. Many symbolic meanings were attributed to it. Rabbi Meir said that it recalls the color of the sky; Rabbi Judah ben Illai maintained that the color of Aaron's staff was light blue, as were the Tablets of the Law, and this is why God commanded the Jews to include it on their prayer shawls: "As long as the people of Israel are looking at this tehelet, they are reminded of {the words} written on the tablets and observe them." In other words, the sight of the color tehelet leads to observance of the commandments."

This is going to get (even more) bloody. Among the Palestinians. They will have a civil war and evil will kill evil.

This is basically a demand that Israel surrender.

They sure didn't waste any time...
