But the bottom line is that it takes more than two or three people to filibuster successfully.

Correct it takes sixty. He is about 50 short.

so it looks like the republicans can no longer trust the democrats to keep their end of a bargain. is the political effect of prolonging a losing fight worth the cost in knowing that from now on none of them can be trusted, none of them can be counted upon?

talk about being shortsighted and petty.

republicans need to start portraying democrats in this light - untrustworthy, and incapable of ahdering to their sides of a deal - not to mention whining brats.

Sen. Kerry is such a big bazoo. Really and truly, how does this guy keep getting re-elected in MA? It really is puzzling. Mr. Kerry is a joke.

Apparently, the voters in MA must be some of the biggest meatheads in the country.

Kerry's "legacy" (reputation) is cast in stone. A traitorous liberal opportunist and committed North East socialist, his chicanery and lies will ride to his grave marker, that is if Terrreeereezzzaaaaa will even buy him one...

Correct it takes sixty. He is about 50 short.

Actually, it takes 60 to prevent a filibuster, hence 41 are needed to creat one. Possibly 42 since the VP could make the 60th if needed I assume.

Your point is well made though .. he's still about 30+ short.

Is this a parody? can't be ... possibly an email from the Democrats that they 'wish' he would send? I only ask since I am sure that isn't his salutation and signature!! ;-)

we have every right -- in fact, we have a responsibility -- to fight against a radical ideological shift on the Supreme Court.

Riiiggghhht....because we don't want RADICAL IDEOLOGY in the Supreme Court!! Nope. No, sir....we don't want that....

Sounds like there aren't very many who want to ride in the same car as Kennedy.

And they keep electing that gasbag Kennedy, too. I'm not sure "meatheads" goes far enough.

Kerry is not on vacation...he is undermining the sovereignty of the U.S. at the World Economic Forum.

It takes 40 to filibuster, 60 to break it.

Effin' has NO CLUE what the American people want. When's the last time he listened to an average citizen's opinion on anything?
I'm sorry Massachusetts, but IMHO, you are wasting two productive senate seats on two incoherent elitist snobs. IMHO.

It's amazing to see firsthand just how shallow the Democrats really are. The bitch is that if Senator Kerry (D. Viet) decides to run again, he'll insist on making campaign stops all over the country, which means joint appearances with local Democrat candidates.

How many Democrats are anxious to have Senator Kerry join their re-election campaign stops? How many won't have a choice in the matter?

Too much like fun...

Boneheads, pinheads, bananas, schmucks, putzes, jerks, knuckleheads, creep-faces, ne'er-do-wells, mountebanks, reprobates....Any of these interest you to describe, accurately, MA voters, i.e., the ones who keep voting for Mr. Kerry and Senator Chubby Chops.
