Good morning once again, all you fellow political junkies. Put on a fresh pot of coffee, put the sticky buns in the oven, put a fresh battery in the remote control, and join us for the latest episode of the world's greatest daytime soap opera, "As the Democrats Bloviate." Yup, once again, it's that time...
She did. I found it interesting the week fitz announced his one indictment, she withdrew. All eyes were moved immediately to her withdrawal...the timing was just too perfect, IMHO.
No, they haven't all spoken. I think C-Span is reflecting the votes of those who have publicly, one way or another, indicated how they would vote.
Now blaming the ultra-right for the Alito nomination. (He may be right about that part) :)
Has Turbin used the "N" word yet? [I mean "Nazi"]
Not voting yet. CSPAN is showing the totals of people who have declared how they will vote.
You know he's going to go lockstep; he always chokes when he votes.
Someone needs to write another kiddie book about a dog to compete with Teddy's book. The new book should feature a bloodhound brought to the scene of a young woman's suffocation death in an auto. The driver is missing, so the bloodhound tracks him down. The hound leads the cops right up to Teddy, who's found on the phone, pleading to his lawyers and political advisors to find someone to take the fall for him.
That would be the first part of the story. The second part would be the inquest into the crime. Teddy would demand all kinds of special considerations on the grounds that he's rich and a member of a powerful political family. But Gruff the Crime Dog shows up and demands that Teddy be treated just like any ordinary citizen would, citing the principle of equal justice under the law. Judge Alito slams down his gavel and sends Teddy off to Sing Sing. A German Shepherd police dog urinates on Ted as he arrives at his cell, where he finds his cell mate to be a butch, muscular homosexual.
Durbin knows he lied when he said Democrats didn't criticize Bush's nomination of Miers.
ANYONE else remember history before the Dems started their revisionist version of the Harriet Miers story?
Even CNN got it right here:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/10/27/miers.nominations/
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Thursday accepted the withdrawal of Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers after weeks of opposition from both liberals and conservatives, who questioned her qualifications and record."
She withdrew herself--HE didn't.
He's just getting started............LOL.
No Dems critcized Miers? hmmmmmmmmmm...

Durbin Criticizes Harriet Miers
Will Not Say Whether He Will Vote To Confirm Her Nomination
(AP) WASHINGTON Illinois Senator Dick Durbin is stepping up his criticism of Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers, although he continues to take no position on whether he will vote to confirm President Bush's choice for the high court.
The Senate's number-two ranking Democrat says after meeting Miers earlier this month he was left shaking his head. He says Miers said nothing to help him make a decision.
Durbin says he wonders why Miers is making the rounds with senators if it's going to produce such frustration.
He says it troubles him to think this is happening with Miers, a woman who helped the White House go through the vetting process with numerous nominees over the years.
He says the burden is on Miers to produce information about herself for next month's Senate Judiciary Committee hearings.
Durbin also complained that Miers has refused to say whether she sees a right of privacy in the Constitution. Durbin says Bush's previous nominee to the court, now Chief Justice John Roberts, said he saw it in three sections of the document.
Durbin says it's not good enough that Bush says that White House lawyer Miers is the best possible nominee. Durbin -- a member of the committee - says that just doesn't cut it.
Oh please.
. LOLOLOL!
No but he is mentioning the Concerned Alumni of Princeton.
So why isn't Durbin saying that the right wing agreed with him? :-)
I was thinking about this the other day...
I bet people from other countries think that the ONLY thing that is important in American's lives is abortion.
THAT seems to be the catalyst for EVERY arguement...even in foreign policy legislation....
What a SAD, SAD "advertisement" for this wonderful country.
Sssshhh! That's the whole stratagery. Karl told me.
Durbin is a liar. Durbin is a liar.
Are they actually voting now? I see a 35-19 count on CSPAN.
thanks
