At least one person was killed and two were wounded in a large explosion in Gaza City on Sunday afternoon, Palestinian witnesses said.
Ambulances were rushing to the scene.
Dr. Moaiya Hassanain, a Palestinian hospital official, identified the dead man as a Mohammed Abdel-Al, 22, of Gaza City.
The victim was said to be a member of the Palestinian Resistance Committees.
The IDF denied any involvement.
The military did not rule out the possibility that it was a work accident, and that a bomb in the car had exploded prematurely.
Tawfiq Abu Khoussa, spokesman for the Palestinian Interior Ministry, said an investigation was under way.
The army did confirm, however, firing missiles at three armed Palestinians spotted approaching the security fence south of the Karni crossing in northern Gaza.
The IDF identified hitting one of the men, and his condition was unclear.
With AP.
Give me three guesses. Or on second thought, how about one.
Looks like things are hotting up before the elections.

Palestinian eyewitnesses: Four missiles fired at Gaza vehicle; IDF: It wasn't us

A Gaza City explosion left one man dead and three others wounded Sunday afternoon.
Witnesses said they saw four missiles fired at a car traveling to a Hamas training camp, and claimed the explosion was the result of an aerial assault by Israel, but the IDF said it was not connected to the incident.
Muhammad Abd Aal, a member of the Popular Resistance Committees, (PRC) was killed in the explosion.
Official PA security sources have yet to provide their version of the incident.
Palestinian police said they were investigating the circumstances of the explosion, and added there was no sign the IDF was involved.
The IDF Spokesperson's Office said the explosion was likely caused by a Hamas work accident and that the army was not operating at all in the area during the time of the explosion.
History of work accidents
The PRC is made up of many former Fatah members but today identifies itself with the Islamist stream of Palestinian factions.
PRC members have enlisted themselves in Hamas' favor ahead of Wednesday's Palestinian elections.
The PRC is thought to be responsible for the second largest number of rocket attacks on Israel, after Hamas.
Meanwhile, in northern Gaza, the Air Force identified three Palestinians who attempted to cross the security fence.
An IAF helicopter fired at them, reportedly leaving a number of casualties at the scene. Their condition is unknown.
In the past, members of various Palestinian groups have been killed on several occasions due to 'work accidents.' Six months ago, a 21 year-old Hamas member was killed in such an explosion north of Gaza City. Two other Palestinians were injured in the explosion.

Warning! This is a high-volume ping list.
Off to see the 72 Virginians.
Wasn't this just in breaking news? What happened?
He not know what he doing.
If it weren't for the fact that Israel can see everything that's going on with the idiots in Gaza, this wouldn't even be reported.
And he set himself up the bomb.
Maybe some fazool got his wires confused.
Pretty steep learning curve.
Hmm....one wonders about those witnesses. However, if it wasn't a premature explosion..sorry jihadulation, then things may really hot up. Wonder if Mr Carter and Mr Bildt (former Sedish PM) have their explosion proof shelters ready?
I bet their Worker's Comp premiums are a bit*h.
Work accident? Do they have an OSHA for terrorists?
