I worry that we categorize the Iranian people - simply because their leaders are nuts.

I went to college from 1977-1981 at The Citadel - a military university. I played soccer. The Citadel had about 60 Iranian students - sent over by the Shah to educate his future military leaders.

These were by among kindest, most generous men I ever met. They were true Muslims, respectful, intelligent - and deeply religious. They also loved Americans. If you needed to borrow money - they were first to offer - need to borrow a car - they would lend it.

At the end of my freshman year - when the Shah was over thrown - these men were told to return to Iran. When they got home - they were executed - along with most of their families - it was a tragedy I will never forget.

I believe the Iranian people (not the leaders) are wonderful people, and they represent our best avenue for peace. Find a way to get them to work the issue internally - and I think Iran can and will once again become a great friend of the USA.

I have no idea how you do that - but I hope smarter people do.

I truly believe that - I have reason and experience to make me believe that.

I get bummed that they call it a "queer" cowboy movie. Its a "queer" sheepherder movie.

You can see real cowboys who are not "queer" when you watch those PBR crazies ride those big bulls!

I agree with you all the Iranian or Persian people I know are very kind and loyal people.

Even my agent for the company I work for in Iran are very kind and considerate and during mum's illness were always the first to say don't worry if you make a mistake etc and even corrected a few of them for me before forwarding to customers.

When mum died and I advised them because I needed to let them know I would not be at work on the day of the funeral the message of condolence they sent was wonderful.

Definitely the best way of moving forward is to somehow getting the Iranian people to rise up but they have had 20 years plus of oppression and fear to overcome.

Thanks for the reply - nice to hear my experiences are common to others.

I hope at some point - some REAL Iranian voices will be heard on the airways - we need the world to see and understand the people who live inside those borders.

Find a way to get rid of the leadership - and the people will give rise to a new opportunity.

Hope so anyway

Actually, on Hardball he compared Bin Laden's tape with all leading dems and brought Scarbarough, Carlson to do the same & got attacked by liberal web sites for doing that.

She got caught out by her own party's left wing PC agenda. IMHO it is sad when we can no longer make humourous jokes that very often the ethnic group used find funny and not offensive. When made by a Party that is so careful to be PC it somewhat looks like hypocrisy but does illustrate how stupid they are with their PC attitude

Definitely the best way of moving forward is to somehow getting the Iranian people to rise up but they have had 20 years plus of oppression and fear to overcome.

With the way Carter undercut the Shah and the way the Dems are talking now about Iraq, there is know way the Iranian people would feel comfortable about attempting to throw off their oppressors yoke. To them, the U.S. is just not reliable.

Kevin Zeese has an interesting history. George Soros has donated money to Zeese's drug studies; moveon.org is listed as a supporter.

Zeese has campaigned (on blogs) to impeach President Bush, yet founds groups like votetrustusa for election reform, which are supposed to be nonpartisan.

His partner in votetrustusa is Joan Krawitz (DU name: hedda foil) who established a blog, helpamericarecount, to recount the 2004 election and within eight weeks had collected, by her account, upwards of $300,000 from desperate Bush haters.

According to Miss Krawitz she "returned $150,000 to donors" when the recount in New Mexico did not take place. Miss Krawitz also aided Bev Harris in Florida in 2004, although the specifics of that aid are not clear.

Kevin Zeese and Joan Krawitz brought Andy Stephenson, the late Andy Stephenson, on board votetrustusa in early 2005;
Bev Harris had fired Stephenson from her BlackBoxVoting in
December of 2004.

The money that floods these blogs is generated by the blogowners ' assurance to the disappointed voters that with just a few more dollars the "vote theft" will be revealed and Gore or Kerry will replace Bush.

"We're just ten dollars away from..." is a line found on PJ Comix's "DU-Funnies" taken from Bev Harris/Andy Stephenson whipping up of the Dummies, "We're ten dollars away from driving Bush out of the White House."

DummieFunnies can be accessed by typing in "Dummies" as the keyword in the box on the top left side of FR comments page.

Dummie "flyarm" aka Arlene Martinez credits herself as responsible for associating Andy Stephenson's name with that of Peter Angelos, a Democrat stalwart in Baltimore. Perhaps
Mr. Zeese can use his special relationship with Andy Stephenson to garner support for his campaign from Mr. Angelos.

"McCain has now aligned himself with a new movement to bolster pro-choice Republicans."

A couple of years ago, when asked if he'd like to be Kerry's running mate, McStain said no. Among his examples of how opposite he and his better half in the Senate are, McStain stated that Kerry was pro choice and he {McStain} was pro life.

Good Grief ... I thought the Evil Karl Rove was

Yeah, he is back & Architect lays foundation for 2006

In the 2002 mid-terms, President Bush and Republicans ran against history - and prevailed. President Bush became the first President in more than a half-century - and only the second President ever - to have mid-term gains in both houses of Congress - and for the first time, the party of the President captured control of the Senate in a mid-term.

In 2004 George W. Bush, a Republican and proud conservative, won the Presidency for a second time, receiving the most votes in history. He is the first President since FDR to be re-elected while his party gained seats in the House and Senate - and the first Republican President since 1924 to get re-elected while re- electing Republican House and Senate majorities.

Republicans have now won seven of the last 10 Presidential elections. They hold 55 Senate seats; 231 House seats; and 28 governorships.

Schwarzenegger sends SOS to WH for help. He gets. WH will send Matthew Dowd, Bush campaign manager & Steve Schmidt, assistant to Vice President Dick Cheney, to run his campaign.

It's one thing if you want to make jokes about your own ethnic group. Hillary wasn't making jokes about WASPs.
