If anyone should know about "plantations", it's Obama. He's certainly signed up lock, stock and barrel for the one owned by the Clintons.

How old is this guy? Was he even around when M.L. King was working to end segregation? What the hell does he know about just how bad it used to be before then? He has been totally on the receiving end of all that happened for the good of US race relations over the last 50 years because guys like King (among others) were willing to put their butts on the line to achieve the equality of opportunity guaranteed by the Constitution. Now he wants to lecture those of us who were part of the fight? The little jerk doesn't know how good he has it. And it wasn't the RAT-bastards who fought to end slavery in 1860 - it was the Repubo Party. The little turd ought to show a little more respect.

Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday defended Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for describing the House of Representatives as a "plantation," saying he felt her choice of words referred to a "consolidation of power" in Washington that squeezes out the voters. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh. So THAT'S what slaves went through?
And all this time I thought they were flogged and beat for petty offenses and forced to work like dogs and live in ramshackle houses all for no pay.
But now, thanks to Hillary Clinton and Osama Obama, I know the truth. Slaves were relegated to minority status on committees and their ideas on legislation were often voted down by the majority.
Call me insensitive but it sounds to me like slaves didn't have it as bad as I thought they did.

"There's been a consolidation of power by the Republican Congress and this White House in which, if you are the ordinary..."
Majority rules...
Democrats cannot face why they are rejected by the moral majority, by the middle-class majority. Nor can Democrats comprehend that being conservative is neither radical nor conspiratorial - it's being rational, wise and normal.
A rather ironic comment from a Democrat:
"If you are the ordinary..." Being "ordinary" refers to those who are not counted among the malevolent snotty "liberal" leftist political elites! Democrats are incapable of introspection because they are mentally constipated by their egoistic sense of perpetual entitlement.

So, slaves on plantations were allowed to cast votes?

Consolidating power in D.C.??? Sounds like Mr. Obama and his ilk are projecting....
To: Aussie Dasher
As long as we're numb to "history shock", why stop at "plantation"? Why not say the Republican House is like the Holocaust? The Killing Fields? The Rape of Nanking? Or are those references saved for campaigning to those particular ethnic audiences?

Said Hillary, "When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run - it has been run like a plantation," she said. "Y'all know what I'm talking about."
Said Obama, "yessum, Ms Hillary"

This was obviously an idiotic statement, but it is up to blacks to be offended or not offended by it. This is a typical white liberal's attempt to ingratiate herself with the "Negroes" by speaking "their language." It is not offensive to me (I'm white), it is disgusting and transparent.
We should say nothing and just let it hang there. It does it's own damage. Anything said about it by conservatives is counterproductive, IMO. Your mileage may vary.

Oh, and it reminds me of another Democrat's stupid and insulting statement:

Hildebeast called Obama after he tapdanced out to "defend" her.
In true elitist style, the junior carpetbagger from NY reportedly told Obama that he was "a good boy" and might be allowed to come to the massa's house if Hildebeast runs and wins in '08.
