My French wife, a U.S. Citizen

Posted on 01/17/2006 10:50:57 AM PST by SF Republican

I would like to take this opportunity to announce my wife has received her U.S. Citizenship confirmation. The ceremony is Feb 7th. I have often mentioned her association with the French school where she teaches here in San Francisco and am very happy and proud of her desire to become an American.

Congratulations! My French husband is finally getting his greencard in February. He wants to become a US Citizen, too. A lot of the conservative, hard working French are fleeing the country in droves.

Welcome to America.

The Rules for being an acceptable American.

1. We don't ask for permission, we beg for forgiveness.

2. If someone tries to hurt you, you are expected to hurt them right back.

3. Support the position not the individual.

4.While we do have upper and lower classes, they are mere descriptions of ones financial standing and has no bearing on ones character.

5. People may have superior skills in a certain area, and they should be celebrated, but no one is your better.

6. Your right to speak your mind trumps your right be offended by others speaking theirs.

7.The right to bears arms isn't for hunting or sport. It's so you can kill the tyrant. The other benefits are just a bonus.

8.The people in government are public servants and need to be reminded who the master is, constantly.

9.No one has the right to bother you on your property and you have no right to bother others on theirs.

10. DO NOT TALK ABOUT AMERICA CLUB!

Congratulations!

My husband became a US citizen a couple of years ago (was a Canadian).

Even though Canada doesn't require you to renounce citizenship, he renounced Canadian citizenship anyway.

He is happy being American and has not looked back. All the best.

Congratulations to her. Or as they say in French -- Felicitations.

Does she prefer the American system of government or the French one ?

Who would she vote for if it ever came down to George W. Bush versus Jacques Chirac ?

Good for him. It should be required by this country.
