N. Korean General: We'll Nuke You
(CBS) North Korean three-star General Ri Chan Bok tells correspondent Dan Rather that if the U.S. invades his country, he will use nuclear weapons to defend it.
Rather spoke to the general during a recent visit to the reclusive Communist dictatorship for a 60 Minutes report airing this Sunday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
Tell the American people that you met the general. If the United States invades our country and starts a war, the Peoples Army will fight to the death and defend ourselves, taking appropriate revenge, says Gen. Bok.
Does the general think that the United States might attack North Korea? We firmly believe that the United States will carry out its policies on our country, even if they have to use military means, Gen. Bok tells Rather. What we can say to you definitely right now is that we currently have nuclear weapons, he threatens.
Bok wouldnt show 60 Minutes cameras any of his missiles, but did show Rather his troops at the border with South Korea. There are more than 30,000 American forces on the other side. The general said that the Americans and their South Korean allies have stepped up military and propaganda exercises recently. He said its because of what he calls the neo-conservatives in the Bush administration.
[Neo-conservatives] are people who want to dominate the world, just like the Nazis of Germany. After striking Iraq they want North Korea, says Bok.
The U.S. State Department refused to discuss North Korea with 60 Minutes.
Dan just loves them dictators and their cronies.
This time, the documents provided were typed on a 1972 model IBM typewriter, the latest in NK office technology.
Oh, I thought they wanted to nuke Dan Rather specifically, until I read the rest of the article.
Did Danny hugg this guy like he did Fidel?
I think Danny is sweet on these guys.
Don't worry... we have no interest in "invading" North Korea.
No, just buffed his...shoes.
Why do crazy despotic meglamaniacs like to eschew their frustrations upon Dan Rather with the free world seemingly always absorbing the risk?
LOL
I saw the headline, I thought this was Scrappleface! DAn Rather from North Korea??
LMAO OMGG that funniest thing I read on FR so far tonight LOLOL!
It is true I think North Korea stuck on 1950 something typewriters LOL!!!
dats good, oh yeah
Hey, you beat me to it; my first thought was "this has gotta be Scrappleface".
Gen. Bok says: "the Peoples Army will fight to the death and defend ourselves".
Hmmm... shouldn't that be the other way around, or there do they die first then defend themselves? Sheesh, they could use Baghdad Bob as a consultant.
I love Korean BBQ.
The General's comments seem so righteous, and notwithstanding his using our own liberals' terrorist helping jargon (neocons), it smacks of being doctored and reedited by whoever wrote this article.
These people are a lot cruder and crueler, but Dan is a friend of Bagdad Bob after all himself and now has his own editors too.
It is funny how General BokChoy spouts the same rhetoric about 'war mongering neocons' as our left.
It's characteristic of these demented egomaniacs to believe we have any interest at all in their puny nation outside of the threat the idiots pose to regional security. That fact notwithstanding, in the event of conflict there's no doubt that while General Wellfed will urge his troops on to glorious victory or (and) death, it is more than likely the majority of the North Korean soldiers will seek to surrender for a single MRE - if not for themselves, then for the folks back home - while the people at large will rush across the lines at the promise of a square meal and freedom.
As for Dan Rather, one might observe that he appears to be very much at home with that loony Korean megalomaniac.
By the way... do my eyes deceive me, or does that "Korean" bear a striking resemblance to Fidel Castro?
Hey Dan, if while you're visiting the world's dictators if anybody hands you any documents make sure you check with me first. Mary Mapes.
