HEADS MUST ROLL (killing of Nixzmary--fourth child to die in two months)
NY POST ^ | January 14, 2006 | EDITORIAL

Posted on 01/14/2006 7:24:31 AM PST by Liz

Memo to Mayor Mike: When a city agency fails so badly in its mission that a helpless 7-year-old winds up dead, it's hardly a time to be cutting slack for those responsible.

Four days after the brutal killing of little Nixzmary Brown, Hizzoner should be serving up heads on a platter. And a perfect neck to start with might be that of John Mattingly, who runs the Administration for Children's Services, the agency that failed the girl.

But not Mayor Mike. He's spent the past few days making excuses. Filibustering. Passing the buck. Yesterday, he actually praised Mattingly as a "nationally recognized expert" in his field. "Until I see something contrary," Hizzoner said, "I think he's probably doing a good job."

Where's Mike been this week? On another planet?

If not, he'd surely know that a little girl in Brooklyn just died at the hands of her parents, while — under Mattingly's watch — ACS dithered and dallied.

He'd know that there were numerous points when the agency — which exists expressly to intervene and prevent such tragedies — could have acted. And he'd know that Nixzmary was the fourth such child to die in just the past two months, despite numerous red flags being waved at ACS.

Doesn't he see any problem at all here? And isn't anyone in particular at fault? Or does the mayor still believe that everyone failed the girl, "the city, the country, the world," as he said Thursday?

Meaning that no one at all is responsible. What a copout.

Also shows the inadequacy of a culture that celebrates the breakup of the family to deal with the horrific results of the moral breakdown.

How many more times do we have to hear of cases where the "live-in" abuses children fathered by another man?

These men clearly see innocent children as a threat to their manhood, particularly in melting pot cultures.

The real father of this little girl reportedly said he wants to kill his daughter's killer.

And so the cycle of violence continues.

The real father is ALSO not the real father. He met the then pregnant mother in get this a homeless shelter and then want on to father 2 children with her. He has seen none of his children in 5 years including the dead child who's father still remains unknown.

All the supposed extended family coming out of the woodwork smell MONEY, they city is going to be facing a huge payout on this one and these family members who kept silent for all these years are hot on the trail.

What a great legal system we have.......(sarc off)

Actually a lot of things failed.

This little girl supposedly begged her own Grandmother to take her away before Christmas.

I grew up at a time when there were no real laws to protect children, probably a lot of you did as I am not really all that old. My family was very violently dysfunctional. The police were to our house at least every two weeks for some sort of a disturbance...sometimes more often.

But, one thing I clearly recall was when things were really bad...my aunt or grandmother would 'come get the kids' and we would go stay with them for a bit of time. The laws are different now and I probably would have gone into the system if they were in effect then, but they weren't. So, it was up to other family members to step in. As much as we like to rail about this tragedy...there is much more to blame than just the system.

The grandmother chose to do nothing, the mother chose to stay in this situation. Perhaps some of you will find this harsh, but they knew what was going on and chose to do nothing. As far as I am concerned they are just as guilty in this girls death.

I have to stop writing for now...my tears for this girl are blurring everything.

After reviewing more details Mommy dearest had 6 children with 4 different men.

The first father of the dead child is unknown.

Then the next man fathered the next 2. ( but is laying claim to the dead child)

The 4th child father still unknown.

The killer fathered the 5th and 6th and it is reported those are the only 2 he did NOT abuse.

It's too easy to blame childrens' services. Where's the blame for whom actually killed these children?

In a previous life I was a CPS worker. No matter how hard workers try to prevent these things from happening, many times it's not even within their power. CPS can't be there 24/7. CPS can only follow the state regulations and one of those was to keep the family unit together at all costs - um, hello is anyone listening? Then there's the nut job judges and believe me Cashman of Vermont is the norm. I had one judge throw a father in jail because he hadn't paid the state but couldn't have cared less that that wasn't even part of the case and threatened to hold me in contempt because I dared ask him why. Another judge left a toddler in care of her parents (Mexican illegals) who were sexually abusing her with the stipulation they get counseling from the priest who was already in trouble for molesting boys. Another judge gave a boy back to his family (more Mexican illegals) who treated the dog better and didn't question any of the OBVIOUS out right lies the witnesses were telling. And the list goes on.

Of course news of this childs torture and killing is horrible.

The perps deserve our rage - not the mayor (who I do not support politically).

It's the irrational liberal in us that wants to scapegoat.

In addition to brutalizing tragic 7-year-old Nixzmary Brown, Rodriguez, 27, also took a belt and his fists to the three other stepchildren in his crowded home — Javier, 9, Edward Jr., 5, and Selena, 4.

But in a sick twist, the sadist was selective in his abuse and apparently never laid a hand on the two kids he fathered with Nixzaliz Santiago — Cesar, age 6 months, and Augustine, age 18 months — a source said.

source of this is NYPost.

Sex sells...which is why from the time we are little children
'baby sitter'd' by the tee vee set...our minds are submerged
in 'it'...pre marital extra marital & even same sex these days..

Children cannot escape the brainwashing even in their schools.

Sex, Drugs, Rock n Roll, violence, family breakup is the legacy of our post modern America.

A fact not lost on the pornographers and pedophiles let alone the commies or muzzies.

The heart and soul of America is the traditional Judeo Christian family.

I work in that area and come into contact with dozens of women daily and it's not unusual for one woman to have four children - all obviously of 'different' racial parentage. There is almost no stigma at all.

Urban mores are deplorable. The 'rainbow' vision (more a nightmare) of Jesse Jackson come to life. Keep up the fight, Jesse Lee Peterson!

This is what happens when government employment is allowed to become a socialist make-work program. (I'm a government employee, so I know whereof I speak.) Blame CSEA/AFSCME for the girl's death as much as the state agency. "My" union makes it impossible to either reward excellence or punish incompetence in state service. And their outrageous wage demands mean fewer high-paid workers on the job rather than more well-paid workers. More caseworkers might have made it easier to keep track, and saved the girl's life.
And let's not forget that the management of government workers and agencies in NY ranges between benign neglect and thundering incompetence, with generous helpings of corruption.
To kill an innocent child is the most henious crime known to humankind. To kill a killer in defense of the innocent is the noble and sacred work of the Warrior.

A person came into our HR office to apply for a job, his mother named him Barabas. Can you imagine that?

The Post should be careful what they ask for. Child Services occasionally errs, because to err is human, and this is a government bureaucracy.

But on the whole, if you have to screw up, it's better to screw up by leaving kids with their families than to run around taking kids away from their families at the least excuse.

This happens about every decade or so. Some poor little kids suffers from family abuse, the media publicize it, and for the next three or four years they take numerous kids away from their parents on the basis of false testimony or trivial incidents like spanking a misbehaving kid in the supermarket.

Be careful what you ask for.

What the heck is this guy doing in the Administration for Children's Services? . . .

Oh, wait a minute . . . that's Don Mattingly, not John Mattingly. Never mind.

That's not a "sick twist" at all. In fact, what you've described here is not all that unusual. Perpetrators of this kind of abuse in a dysfunctional family situation like this follow a pattern that is well-established among primates like baboons -- in which a dominant male will establish himself as the head of his "tribe" by gathering a harem of females and killing off any of their offspring that were fathered by other males.

I saw the NY Daily News next to the NYP which I read daily. On the front page is the head of the ACD. The headline reads something like "We are overwhelmed, we are short of staff and we don't have enough money". I am of the opinion that when you fill positions to promote diversity you end up promoting incompetence. About once a month some kid that "fell through the cracks" dies down there. What you never read about is what becomes of the case workers or in this instance, the commissioner.

At least 'Barabas' has some traditional foundation (a character in Marlowe's "The Rich Jew of Malta", also a biblical reference). But 'Nixzmary'? Looks like she either just threw a bunch of letters together, or was trying to keep track of the fathers by prefixing a mutilated possessive (ie. "Nick's Mary").
