Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

Everytime I listen to Kennedy speak, I hear my mother-in-law. She is Massachusetts-born, living in Hahtford, CT. My inlaws are oldtime Dems, Chrissy Matthews fans and refuse to listen to anything against the Democrats. Every argument I bring up, she ends with finality by saying, "We are Democrats, you know."
Fat Teddy Wetbrain not letting up,...and no moment of silence for ROP deaths today
Alito now schooling Teddy.
They will probably just make the monument in the shape of a urinal, with a very large septic system.
It will be a very, very long line.
Mrs. Alito looks so much like my next door neighbor that it's eerie.
Great take on Lindsay...and I TOO appreciate him being "FOR" Judge Alito, so openly...
BUT, like you said...he has been showboating just a little bit, eh?
"I had a basset hound that would catch mice. If they were small enough, he would swallow them whole."
Like I've always said: "Who needs a cat?"
Roberts was definately smoother. Alito is a lot more steak where roberts was more sizzle.
Isn't it amazing how fat teddy comes to the most ugly of conclusions? How does forming a conclusion, without Alito's answer not objected to?
Pig.
LOL
Notice how Alito's wife's expression changes when the Dims are bloviating versus when Specter was talking.
She's shooting a deathray at Teddy.
:) Someone needs to stay in the Senate to keep the rats in line. Senator Cornyn does a beautiful job. He should be on the Court as well.
I think it's an UNDERWIRE - PUSHUP that he wears... to keep things in line... if you know what I mean
Is this the last day of the interrogation? When is the vote?
IMO, what drives them nuts is Alito's established 15 year record as a Judge. They know for a fact he's the type of Justice that will not write law, and they are unable to prevent his ascendency to the Court.
We haven't had someone with this type of extensive record since Bork. History isn't playing out the way it did for Bork. Just as they aren't able to relive Watergate or Vietnam and it drives them nuts.
Roberts had a two year record that was pretty light in comparison in which they could "hope" he wasn't what they suspected, and he was replacing rehnquist.
This is the reason for the difference in their reactions to the two men.
For my part I'm happy with the placements. Chief Justices have to be "peace makers" among members. Attempt to broker Majority opinions. They are the face of the court to the public. IMO, Roberts suits that position better than anyone on the court. Whereas the rest of the Justices are free to write books, make speeches, and it is in that realm Alito has the potential to affect talks at the legal schools for up and coming jurists. To influence students to embrace a return to the constitution through his writings, rather then the concept of a living Constitution. This is what Scalia does with his writings.
Does Teddy know what he is talking about?
Call Democratic Senate offices and raise Hell, particularly with Democratic senators who are NOT on the Judiciary Committee. It's the only way this will stop, because the RATS on the judiciary committee are politically impenetrable in their home states. Other RATS are not.
Amen and doesn't the drunken swimmer prove the point. Wasn't that a nice apology kennedy offered.
Kennedy telling the Judge his answers are not accurate but doesnt have tome to go thru it all.
Thanks for the ping
