Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

Alito to me just shows a true understanding, respect, appreciation, and adirmation for the founding principals of this nation.
To me, is comes across as far more knowledgable and grounded than Roberts.
feh. Now fox, msnbc have dropped it. only cnn has it on. uck.
Unlike Newton, Leahy wasn't hit by an apple falling onto his head and bringing w/it an epithany.
I think Alito is picking out keywords from what Leahy is saying and going with it. That's the only strategy I can see to make any sense of what Leahy is saying.
FWIW, for raw hearing support, this thread has a bit of distraction in the forms of opinion swapping, friendly argument, as well as some tangential stuff. I happen to enjoy the distractions - and the tangential stuff disappears completely when the goings get hot.
That being said, the best place for just following the proceedings, and it is very good, from the parts I've reviewed, is ...
"Mine, because they really love me, will leave it somewhere in the path I take on the way to the coffee maker in the morning so that I'm sure to discover it in the darkness and my half awaken state. They love the scream it brings out of me, followed by my knees going weak and nearly bringing me to the floor."
I'm thinking that in their immense pride they are expecting you to knight them.
Answer: No they did not...therefore, they have no right to keep bringing it up.
He's already out of questions, but will he shut-up? NO!
For your edification, CNX shows have about half the audience that Fox News shows draws.
Are you serious? I think anyone working at CNN is either delusional or on drugs. They'd have to be to report such lies.
So they want someone who will bend to their ways in spite of the Constitution.
Leahy wants Alito to say Congress trumps all in laws.
Time to retire. He's either a mummy or a vampire.
Why doesn't Fox have it on?
Did Leahy say he'd been around to long?
This guy is a "maroon" and I don't mean he is from the U of C.
"as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations"
Well, if they are giving recommendations we need to have recommendations from:
AARP - American Assosiation of Rapists and Pedophiles
DNC - Drugdealers National Coalition
NOW - National Organization of Wetbacks
And others.
If we are going to let one criminal group have a say, we need to let them all.
"Feingold asked for a list of all who advised/coached Alito during the prep for the hearings...There was mention in the media that Lindsay Graham helped him...some on the left wailed..the NY TIMES said it was inapporporaite in the he would then be voting on him, after helping him...If Feingold decides to make an issue of it..look for Lindsay to take the gloves off...could get ugly.."
They could always ask Feingold if NARAL, ACT, MOVEON coached him on what he is asking. Or did they just fund it.
Leahy just got in a snide reference to Congress 'grandstanding' on the Schiavo case. The only time the man makes any sense is when he's getting a dig in. Vile snake.
LOL!
