He [Alito] would have been the best Chief Justice.

Alito will have nearly the same judicial power as an associate, and he doesn't have to deal with the same administrative oversight burden (of other courts, not SCOTUS) that the CJ does. I rather like that things shook out the way they did, including the trip down Miers Lane.

Maybe Patrick should go back and sit under his tree in Vermont until he figures it out.

This is still open.

I was going to ask him if it is proper for a man who killed someone with his car due to negligence to be a U.S. Senator. But, I am at work and don't want to be associated with his site from here. Maybe tonight.

I thought maybe a few night owls would be interested in this.

What Would You Ask Samuel Alito?
President Bush's nominee already knows the answers to questions the White House coaches and handlers anticipated, but he hasn't heard from you -- yet.

As he makes his case to serve on the nation's Supreme Court, what is the most important question you think Samuel Alito should answer?

I said this last night. We women are tigers protecting our families when they are attacked, and we get good and mad. But then when kindness is displayed, we often break down. It's the kindness that undoes us after days of attacks.

Leahy is senile..or close to it..nearly incoherent..and his questioning, er, rambling..is pathetic. I predict that after Alito is confirmed by the Senate, you will hear lots of talk on the left to get rid of him as the ranking member..

Novak on FNC just referred to the hearing as an auto-da-fe.

Good analogy.

Actually, I prefer Alito to Roberts so far from what I can tell.

Me too. Roberts is showing tendencies, through his questions in oral arguement, that indicate he is not as strong a supporter of states rights as Rehnquist.

What does a cat actually do with a mouse when he catches it?

Mine, because they really love me, will leave it somewhere in the path I take on the way to the coffee maker in the morning so that I'm sure to discover it in the darkness and my half awaken state. They love the scream it brings out of me, followed by my knees going weak and nearly bringing me to the floor.

What, has Teddy run out of questions?

I think we should all send our questions for the senator there. Including his association with a certain OWL club at Harvard.

Actually, I prefer Alito to Roberts so far from what I can tell.

Two days ago on FNC, Mort Kondrake called Alito home run #2 for Bush picks for SCOTUS.

A few freepers reported that in the later hours, a CNN reporter was saying it was Graham who made Mrs. Alito cry and she wouldn't return until he apologized. I think the reporter was Anderson Cooper.

Without Liberal judicial activism they have no use for the SCOTUS. The Supreme Court is merely a tool for them to force the Liberal agenda on the American public.

They don't understand or want to understand the true nature of the Supreme Court. A strict interpretation of the Constitution leaves no room for reading what isn't there to promote a Liberal cause. IMHO
