"Congressman A" mentioned in the Abramoff indictment is a Louisiana Democrat
Jefferson is the dim who comandeered national guard troops to go to his home so he could secure documents that might implicate him in yet another bribery scandal.
Exactly how do you spell "schedenfreude?"

Did somebody say something about "a culture of corruption"?
To: Phsstpok
Well, it's "Schadenfreude" and it sure is fun sometimes....
What idiots in this day and age would fall for such a "Nigerian scam" anyway?? These fools should be prosecuted for terminal stupidity as well as corruption!!

Business opportunity in Nigeria? Did he get an email about some rich Nigerian guy who needed to transfer some funds and would reward him handsomely for his help?

The congressman told me of a business opportunity in Nigeria...I'll bet he's the one who has been telling me about all of those business opportunities in Nigeria.

Can't be.
All the Dems and their pundits/commentators have been saying this is a Republican scandal, that no Dems were involved.

the point the media missed is that a Republican NEED NOT be BRIBED to supposedly pony up to a Republican lobbyist and assume a position he or she would otherwise not because of a bribe. It would be near impossible to prove that a Republican voted like a Republican because he was bribed. Clearly those who were most likely to be influenced by Abrahamoff were those who would have otherwise normally voted DEM.

"The bribery probe is separate from the ongoing investigation of lobbyist Jack Abramoff , who pleaded guilty last week to federal charges. Abramoff's investigation could bring down some lawmakers and their aides, including a former aide to Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Texas." Wait... but this has nothing to do with Abramoff.

Remember... Wm J (D) LA was the guy who hijacked the national guard to get to his house in NO after the flooKatrina), and also got the troops to help him move "personal items" up and out of harms way

Like the mainstream media said...a purely REPUBLICAN scandal.

"The congressman told me of a business opportunity in Nigeria,"
What?
I'm still waiting for the Nigerian banker guy to send me those funds he wanting to ship out of Nigeria. I've still got the letter from him. He seemed nice. I hope he got my bank account number I sent him for the transfer. The funds should be transferred just any day now. Soon, I'm sure. Wonder if he knew Abramoff?
