ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.
Biden is equating Alito's ability to remain conscious with responsiveness during his soliloquy.
I am eye candy.
(in my dreams)
JUDGE ALITO FAILS TO GIVE ASSURANCE THAT THE GREAT SUPER DUPER POOPER SCOOPER HAS DECLARED ROE v WADE IRREVERSABLE !!!
you just did
BTTT
Well, I'd love to be considered eye candy, but I wouldn't want to be hired on that basis!
as krauthammer alluded, senatorially induced coma.
I don't know about that. But I am seeing that the precision of the questioning and responses from the new Chief Justice is hard for Kennedy to withstand.
He will try as there are many benefits to conforming to the liberal way.
But Roberts is going to make him look stupid if he does vote the wrong way, and that may be too much for Kennedy to bear.
Yes, Brian Lamb, in an interview when he changed the phone lines stated that he did it because they were getting to many "hate" calls.
He actually used the word hate, and I knew he was a lib.
Maybe he thinks his calls now are "love" calls?
LOL! Me too. Then I wake up.
Biden will never "understand" what Hewitt means by thanking him for being him. He is too "confused" about his own importance not to take it as a compliment. It's priceless! lol.
"what exactly is wrong with Ginsburg and how old is she exactly? Thanks anyone?"
Her dessicated, sunken features lead me to believe she's in an advanced state of mummification. Those humongous glasses don't fool me...there's no life behind those lenses
Nope. Let me tell you why....
It's really rewarding doing a great job and being a success because it's a product of you doing a great job.
You have to work with co workers and others and you want to be respected for what you can do. No one wants the stigma of being a klunk.
That said, there are a lot of discrimination cases that could be avoided if the person really was interested in setting limits respectfully. Most men are good people. Sometimes you have to set limits. Sometimes you may have a miscommunication. But it doesn't get resolved if you assume that the man is a bad guy. He may be but what if he's not?
>>Well, I'd love to be considered eye candy, but I wouldn't want to be hired on that basis!<<
I wouldn't mind at all.
They would expect nothing of me and I could sit at my desk, talk on the phone and do my nails.
I worked with enough of these. It's a pretty plush life. One girl I worked with was hired from being a "Waitress" at a strip club. She had to be told not to wear her "Bud Light" baseball cap on casual day. She sat, the majority of the time in the owner's office (with the door open because the wife was known to drop in) and smoke cigarettes while crossing and uncrossing her mini-skirted legs.
Tough life.
its wrongheaded that you are troubled and doubly concerned that you dont know what he is deeply concerned about.
further it shows you approve spying on americans and strip searching all 10 year olds.
Alito: Yes you are, the cops knew the drug dealer hid drugs on other people in the home, so they asked to search everyone when they got the warrent. I'm not happy they searched the 10yr old girl, I even said that in my dissent. This case was weather the cops were liable to be sued. And that wouldn't be possible if there was even the chance that a reasonable officer thought the warrent coverved it.
Leaky: That may be, but who strip searches a 10 year old girl?
Who strip searches a 10 year old girl? A cop who knows that the drug dealer probably hid drugs on her (the drug dealer hoping he would be lucky enough to get a liberal democrat cop that wouldn't dream of searching a child) to avoid getting caught. That's who, you ignorant gasbag!
Now I'm deeply saddened and puzzled.
That's what I, and some of the folks I've talked with about it, think (and hope) could happen.
"Is there a Cliff's Notes of all this? I'm at work & can't keep up."
Basically, Alito is spinning cirlces around them. He's not avoiding or dodging any questions. He's calmly refuting their ridiculous assertions with impeccable logic and reasoning. Schumer is probably crying somewhere.
