Kennedy: Record 'troubles me deeply'
WorldNetDaily ^ | 10 January 2006

In the first day of weeklong confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., told Judge Samuel Alito to expect tough questioning, saying the record of the U.S. Supreme Court nominee "troubles me deeply."

Eighteen committee members gave their opening statements, followed by a statement by Alito. Questioning will begin tomorrow.

Kennedy pointed to controversy over President Bush's decision to order the National Security Agency to wiretap conversations between terrorists overseas and citizens in the U.S.

"In an era when the White House is abusing power, is excusing and authorizing torture, and is spying on American citizens, I find Judge Alito's support for an all-powerful executive branch to be genuinely troubling," Kennedy said.

The Massachusetts senator said Alito "has excused abusive actions by authorities that intrude on privacy and freedom of average Americans."

The judge, Kennedy said, has acted in favor of government, large corporations and powerful forces.

"Average Americans have had a hard time getting a fair shake in his court room," said Kennedy.

Kennedy was followed by Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, who noted, to laughter, that his view of Alito contrasts sharply with Kennedy's.

Kennedy's open fly, booze-engorged liver, history of getting away with murder, and massive man-breasts trouble me greatly.

"Troubles me deeply?",p> I mean Ted, deeply? How deeply, maybe 1 fathom deep. Volkswagon deep?

I mewan Ted, is it true your fans want to chain an anchor around your right leg to see if you can still float ?

I mean if anything troubled you deeply, you would have hauled Mary out, but you know what?

Nothing troubles you deeply, unless it is an unexpressed fart.

OMG!!! He actually uses the words" “equal justice under law”." in his speech. More like "All the justice money can buy".

Imagine the terror and torture as water rises up to your nostrils in a confined space while your date swims back to the mainland to find a fall guy and an alibi.

A Republican that drove off that bridge would have done hard time in the pen for manslaughter. Conservatives would have been the loudest demanding it. That is a big part of why I'm a Conservatives and not a Liberal.

I wonder if he is "deeply saddened" as well. Old Teddy should be right out there in front of this smearing episode. Americans are not too crazy about the old commie.

If Mary Jo Koepechne was alive today she would be comforted in her old age by all the good things Ted Kennedy has done for Seniors.
I was stunned when some Kennedy apologist had the absolute gall to write that.
The SOBs have absolutely no shame.

Kennedy isn't going to vote for Alito. Let's get on with it.
