PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: President Bush, the First Lady, the dogs and cat, and their family are spending the New Year's holiday at their Texas ranch.
On this New Year's Eve, 2005, although mindful of those who will not continue the journey with us into 2006, it seemed to me we should celebrate happy times. That is the theme of this last Dose thread of 2005.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: From the first Inaugural Address of President George W. Bush, January 20, 2001.
Americans are generous and strong and decent, not because we believe in ourselves, but because we hold beliefs beyond ourselves. When this spirit of citizenship is missing, no government program can replace it. When this spirit is present, no wrong can stand against it.After the Declaration of Independence was signed, Virginia statesman John Page wrote to Thomas Jefferson: ``We know the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong. Do you not think an angel rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm?''
Much time has passed since Jefferson arrived for his inauguration. The years and changes accumulate. But the themes of this day he would know: our nation's grand story of courage and its simple dream of dignity.
We are not this story's author, who fills time and eternity with his purpose. Yet his purpose is achieved in our duty, and our duty is fulfilled in service to one another.
Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today, to make our country more just and generous, to affirm the dignity of our lives and every life.
This work continues. This story goes on. And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.
From my surgery yes.....I have now been diagnoised by 3 doctors as having fibromyalgia....I'm still not sure, but it does answer a lot of questions.....but enough of that...this is the New Year....
Are you visiting friends? Otherwise, we'll hit midnight simultaneously.
That's a tough thing to diagnose--and to treat! HOpe you get some answers and good treatment.
Hello Gretchen,
How are you tonight?
There is a small village a few miles from me where there used to be an old farmer who specialised in homemade horseradish and he used to take it into the local pubs and put it on the counters for people to try.
I have sampled some of it and boy oh boy was it hot and very good
You are his daughters age....Dubya likes mature women....LOL
Happy New year catch you around
Happy New Year all good persons!!!! Be strong and good persons!!!! Good G-D will help you.

***if you fed him bird seed, you must concede...
That's not bad, Buddy :)
How about: "If you feed the seed, you must concede!"***
OKAY, OKAY you two. I concede. LOL! I'm laughing too hard to do anything else but concede.
Anyway, I can see a whole new career for Jonny, as a singer. Here's the perfect song:
"am I blue
ain't these tears, in these eyes telling you
How can you ask me "am I blue"
There was a time
when I was her only one
but now I'm
the sad and lonely one...
Am I blue?
They'll love ya in Cheboygan, Jonny.
Private dorm rooms cost more. And as for food, you don't have to do the cooking. I hope you like fried chicken with mac and cheese cuz we have it Sundays for dinner and Tuesdays for lunch. And I'll keep quiet about the age AFTER you write all my papers next semester...
I used to like that song...LOL.....
Hmph. I'll call Dubya and ask HIM about that.
LOL
Happy New Year Kelly
Thank the good Lord above for the opportunity to grow up in the best Country in the World!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
NordP
hello Sara I thought of you at midnight remembering it had already been 2006 in Poland for one hour - Happy New Year
Not out partying Kelly or do you have a celebration at home?
How does it feel to be a year ahead of us....I still have 2 more hours.....
What classes will I be writing said papers for?
Don't worry, I will pay extra for the private dorm room. I don't "do" chicken very much; do they have a salad bar? Will you do my laundry? I'm tired of doing laundry.
