Did anybody else hear Keith Oberman on MSNBC last night state that the 1st Commandment (Thou shall have no other God before me) only applies to people who choose to worship that god,(the God of Mosses) and does not prohibit the worshipping of other gods?
And what gives between him and Fox's Gibbson and O'reily?

Ratings envy.
Technically he may be correct, as far as a Judeo-Christian viewpoint may be. If one chooses to worship any other than the One True God, what difference would it make if they worshipped a hundred gods. The God of Moses prohibits this explicitly, while some other religions do just the opposite. Most people would not think of KO as their main source of spiritual guidance though.
I chalk it up to the double-edged sword of a loving and humble God. If we don't worship Him and accept His wonderful/terrible gift of Christ on the Cross, this life is as good as it gets. If we do worship Him and accept the Gift, this life is comparative hell, but we look forward to an Eternity that never stales as we spend it with Him. God loves us enough and is humble enough that He allows us to choose.
God Bless and Merry Christmas
The truth is the truth even if no one believes it.
A lie is a lie even if everyone believes it.
CROM!
The Hebrews were also murderers, liars and adulterers. I think the meaning of Gods commandments are clear enough. YMMV.
I like my soft boiled egg opened on the large side...thank you all so very much.
This is the MOST asinine thing I've ever seen posted! You have no clue what you're talking about. Go get a bible and start reading...Especially look at the context in which these commands are given.
Oh, and how bout reading all the commandments, so you can put the 1st one into context, PLEASE, get a clue!
Moron alert?
LOL!
Now that's showing the Christian spirit (never mind I was thinking it)/sarc. One should reflect the LOVE of God when talking of spiritual matters, don't you agree?
Like most people on MSNBC, if you stop watching them, they just go away.
>>One should reflect the LOVE of God when talking of spiritual matters, don't you agree?<<
Nope. Sometimes one must just put "stupid" in it's place. Notice how the OP states a really dumb statement. The NP states not how "asinine" the OP is, but rather how "asinine" the statement is.
The OP is stuck on stupid and therefore it is kind to point out how really "asinine" the statement is before it is repeated in less kind company. ;-).
Bob...do you think Jesus was showing the "Christian spirit" when he drove the money changers out of the temple? Christians get upset when we see the WORD being misrepresented. Not all of us will sit with our hands folded neatly in our laps and smile quietly when listening to it either. (btw... those are called pew-warmers) Christians are STILL HUMAN....just saved by grace! :)
Die Heretic! The Little End (PBULE) represents the One True Faith!
It's an interesting dilemma: Ancient Jews regarded Jesus and his followers as a Nazarene false-messiah cult.
Muslims bash the Jews because the Koran teaches that they rejected Jesus as a prophet. The Koran also condemns 6th century Christians as "polytheists" because of their belief in a "Triune God."
Modern Christians condemn Jews and Muslims because they reject Christ as the Savior.
All of them believe that God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses and all of them believe the others are worshipping "other gods." Using that logic, if you wanted to find truth, go find a religion that Christians, Jews, and Muslims condemn.
