Regardless of their last names, if the authorities were led to them by means of wiretaps, then I say, along with the 'RATS and the NY Slimes: LET THEM GO FREE !!!

>Probably something like John Running Bear, Joe Yellow Feather.<<

Anymore a surname may or may not indicate one's national origin. The name Richardson was one which was found extensively in and around my NC ancestral English/Scottish families in the 1700s. Not so in New Mexico where our Governor Richardson considers himself to be Hispanic.

Note to self: check back when this is a story.

Actually, this is a story. It was all over the news. The stole 400 pounds of c-4 explosive, etc. That is a significant amount that could level a fair sized building. That they now have culprits in custody is good news.

Anyone want to guess the origins of their last names????

Pick any rural names, it doesn't matter. If you're implying that they're of Middle Eastern heritage, I'd have to say you're giving far too much credit.

I mean, look at the history of terrorism involved - blind luck plays a pretty important role. That those explosives might have been sold to someone from the Middle East bent on terrorism is far, far more likely than they doing it themselves.

Plus the obscurity of the site lends towards someone on the local side pointing it out, and probably Internet buddies who actually committed the crime.

Whoa, slow down hoss. Lot's of reasons to want explosives. Plenty of industrial, construction and mining reasons. They are very expensive and highly regulated. Therefore some will steal. However explosives are not inherently evil, neither are guns, rat poison or claw hammers.

Thefts of and missing explosives are common; these stories were never national news before 9/11, however.

Don't bet too much on it.

My first thought when the heist was reported was "inside job" (ex-employee, ex-customer, ex-supplier, etc.)

It couldn't be both ROP and an inside job?

> It does not need to be terrorism, ...

In fact, the DHS and FBI ruled out terrorism
just before the heist happened :-)

My guess? Bloomfield, NM - oil and gas workers-roughnecks-stolen for profit and/or mischief-not terrorism, other than the kind generally promulgated by rednecks of all sorts.

How long we gonna have to wait to hear these names? If they are not juveniles, do the laws have any grounds to hold back the names which, seems to me, should be public record???

Yep, but had it been, my guess is they would have been
caught quicker, because the FBI and BAFTE probably
focused on those persons of interest, giving them
priority over white sups, ordinary crooks, outlaw
miners and out-of-control hobbyists.
