New Limits on Travel Abroad
Adnkronos International:Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has issued a circular warning all ministers and state bodies that "no official may go abroad, on a mission or for personal reasons, without prior authorisation and without coordinating with the foreign ministry". In the circular, signed by the deputy president Parwiz Davoodi, no reason is given for the decision. "The aim is to avoid misunderstandings," a presidential source told the Iranian news agency Fars.Since the election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last July, there has been an increasing flow of financial and human capital to neighbouring countries and to Europe and Canada and shares on the Tehran exchanges have plumetted, losing up to sixty per cent of their value.
In the last three months, an estimated one billion dollars of Iranian capital has been invested in nearby Dubai alone. Some 100 million dollars has been invested in neighbouring Iraqi Kurdistan.
During his electoral campaign, Ahmadinejad described investments in stocks and shares as "a game of chance, contrary to Islamic principles". The subsequent denials by the aides of the new president have done nothing to calm the waters and avoid an investor crisis of confidence.
The news that a 27-year-old economics graduate was to be the new director of the Tehran stock exchange has provoked further consternation among Iranian investors.
Under a presidential decree in November, the directors of the country's most important banks were dismissed. "If the banks do not work to carry out the economic policies of the government, or worse still work against them, they will be closed down," the new economy minister Davoud Danesh Jaafari warned.
The banking appointment which has created the greatest furore in financial circles is that of Abdolhamid Ansari, a former commander of the Revolutionary Guard, to head the Melli Bank, Iran's central bank.

Local rumors are stating about the involvement of the regime's intelligence circles as Tchapari was known for openly criticizing many aspects of the daily life and his regret to have taken part in "the creation of a monster".
- Kenneth R. Timmerman, The National Review reported that Iran’s Christians have a high price to pay.
- The Washington Post published the full text of President Bush's news conference where he said of Iran: "There are Consequences for Not Behaving."
- Reuters reported that an Iranian of the Bahai faith has died in his jail cell of unknown causes, 10 years after being imprisoned by Tehran for abandoning Islam.
- Radio Free Europe reported Ahmadinejad's anti-Israel statements reflect the 0Official line. A must read.
- FOX News reported that hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has banned Western music from Iran's radio and TV stations.
- Islamic Republic News Agency reported that Iran condemns the recent EU positions on Iran as 'unacceptable.'
- Bill Steigerwald, The Jersey Journal published an interview with Ilan Berman, Author of "Tehran Rising."
- Michael Ledeen, National Review Online published the truth about Tenet's installation of Ahmadinejad as Iran's new president. A clever conspiracy theory.
- Dieter Bednarz, Erich Follath and Georg Mascolo, Spiegel Online reported on Ahmadinejad's challenge to the world.

- Reuters reported that Iran denied reports that a firefight last week in the country's lawless southeastern borderlands was an assassination attempt on President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
- The Jerusalem Post criticized the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to ElBaradei.
- And finally, Sobh.org, an Ansar Hezballah web site published more propaganda against the state of Israel.

Dear God. But the REAL people of Iran seem to think he is not serious or that there will be few repercussions. Are they blind or are they right?
I saw Iranians try to exit when the Ayatollah was preparing to return to Iran. They and their families tried were subjected to humiliation and even after thew offer of large sums of cash they were refused exit and escorted away. The SAVAK will be viewed as a bunch of pussy cats as compared with what is in store for the Iranian populace. IMHO the revolt has to be well financed and come from with the country of Iran before any country would be willing to commit forces.
The true nature of islam is being revealed in all it's glory in Iran these days. Weather or not we are ready for war is irrelevant. It's already here.

This particular alarming action by the Ahmadinejad régime is an additional indicator total war (nuclear jihad) is being prepared for Iran, the greater Persian Gulf region & beyond, all due to the twisted cultist beliefs of the brutal Islamic madmen in change.
"Mahdism" is about to run amuck.
History is littered with the remains of short, bad-tempered men who pissed off their neighbors once too often. Mr. A will join that list in short order, and the world will be better off for it.
Do you know what the effect of this will be on academics? I sat next to an Iranian professor at a recent conference. To be honest, I was surprised that both our governments let this guy visit. However, I don't know the restrictions on Iranian academic visitors, so maybe he had no trouble at all.
Are academics considered 'officials'? That seems to be stretching it, but in a totalitarian state, I guess you could call anybody anything if you don't want them to travel.
I was just thinking that. This is sounding like 1930's Germany all over again. I hope the dissidents are prepared for whats coming. God help them.
