My Daughter had the honor of meeting Lt. Cololonel Oliver North today.

Yes, I am a USAF retiree. Used to be "AntiJen" but decided to make a positive change in my life some time ago and dropped the prefix. Now I'm just "Jen" at FR and in real life. However, I am not the Jen mentioned in this thread. "Jen's Mom" is not my mom. My mom is "mamadixie".

I have been wondering if we can draft him to run for the GOP Presidential nomination for '08. Between the RINOs (McCain, Graham, Romney, Pataki, etc) and the Unrepentant Sleezes (Newt Gingrich, and also McCain...he's a Two-Fer!)...that would just leave Ollie up against some relative lightweights, such as George Allen.
Has anyone tried to sound him out on this? We need a REAL REAGANITE...Hint...

Oliver North, now there's a REAL reporter. He actually HELPS the troops, and boosts their morale, and is with them. Unlike those other journalist cowards from the MSM.

I met him at a weekend long event in GA a few years ago where he told a very funny story about being flagged for further inspection by security....met him afterward and was struck by several things....first, he was very funny and charming, second, he had no BMOC attitude...really approachable...
And finally, for a 59 year old man (at least I think that is what he told the crowd at the time) he was buff and handsome as hell!!!
My youngest brother had the honor of having his photo taken with Ollie two years ago. My middle brother had his picture taken with GWB in California when BUsh was still governor of Texas. YOu can say I am one proud big brother. Out of respect for my two brothers and their service to the country, I will not post their pics on a public web site.
Please tell her thank you for us. She is completing such a wonderful and historic mission.

I am retired Air Force and I worked with Lt Col North at the National Security Council. He was a very nice individual to work for/along with. I am glad your daughter got to meet him. Best of luck to your daughter may she come home soon. God Bless
