Kudos to Denny Hastert. Now can we fire the Senate and just have a unicameral congress?

I support the wall, but I always have to ask myself: "Did the East Germans tell their citizens that they were building a wall to keep them in, or to keep others out?"
To: systematic
I will believe this when I see construction funded and actually commenced. IMO it's just part of the decades long delaying tactics designed to let the problem get way beyond control - About where it is now - Just little more delay needed until it's moot.

I thought a portion of the Real ID act, which was incorporated in other legislation, already gave the DHS the ability to do this.
Got to read more...

If they can spend $3 billion rebuilding and reinforcing the levees in NO, they can build a decent fence along the border for about the same.

Only supposed to cover parts of the border. Will just change the traffic flow to different spots. Means nothing.

No - The Pro Illegal Open Borders lobby political power gets to the point where the complete agenda is controlled by them. Several more millions of illegals would go far towards this happening and that would make it moot don't you think.

Maybe I'm just simple, but "walling up" the border should mean just that.......building a wall. This article mentions "security fencing". That to me is a big difference.
Still, it's a step in the right direction. Of course, strap yourself in for the media outcry (and Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins of course) howling about how the United State is not "East Germany".......in reference to the Berlin Wall of course.
It'll get ugly as always.....the republicans will bow to the caturwailing and clucking of tongues.....the media will scream out about denying the "poor mexican kids who will die otherwise proper health care".......and life will continue onward.
Still, it's a good first step in the real security of our country. It will also fit the majority opinion of the citizens who live here too. It's a pity that's not the only thing that matters anymore though.
