Is the Pentagon spying on Americans? Secret database obtained by NBC News tracks ‘suspicious’ domestic groups.

WASHINGTON - A year ago, at a Quaker Meeting House in Lake Worth, Fla., a small group of activists met to plan a protest of military recruiting at local high schools. What they didn't know was that their meeting had come to the attention of the U.S. military.

A secret 400-page Defense Department document obtained by NBC News lists the Lake Worth meeting as a “threat” and one of more than 1,500 “suspicious incidents” across the country over a recent 10-month period.

Much of the PA was written by the Clinton admin.. a watered-down version of it was passed as an anti-terrorism law in 1996.

Most of the PA was written by Conservative Icon Andrew Young and Conservative Icon Gary Hart. We should not be surprised at the number of Conservatives that support the PA; they won't be around to protest President Rodham's use of it, anyway.

Al Quaeda used charitable organizations to raise funds and launder money. Jim Jones used a church. The Branch Devidians(sp?) were a branch off of Seventh Day Advontists.

There have been plenty of kook groups that have abused or sprung up out of legitimate, perfectly fine organizations.

You are presenting this as false choices. There are laws which span between your choices. Your reasoning follows the pattern of those who wish to gut the Patriot Act. In a time of war. Wrong reasoning.

Do you recall former President Clinton's "Clipper Act" -- that which would monitor communications in the US whether governmental or private? That was fought tooth and nail for two reasons: it was an invasive act in a time of peace. Secondarily, it was far too obvious the Clintons would be readily inclined to apply it for fundraising and/or campaign opponent research.

There are traitors in our country in a time of war who OPENLY ADVOCATE AND ACTIVIZE against the United States in TIME OF WAR.

NBC News leaks secret 400-page Defense Department document.

I imagine nbc News _must_ have a business license in one state or another to be able to go on the air. MAYBE that business license should be suspended pending a complete investigation of HOW they GOT the document and why they didn't check with the DoD before publishing it. Should take a few years...

The year was 1968. The POTUS was LBJ. SecDef was Clark Clifford. AG was RAMSEY CLARK.

Am I the only guy to remember this sh!t?

No. I remember it. The Conservatives of today act much like the Ramsey Clarks of yesterday.

You wonder what Hillary would do with that power and I am telling you she and Bill did not ask the American people for the power use the full power of the executive branch to go after their political enemies in the name of fighting "the extreme right haters." They had a war against terror - only it did not involve Muslims. It involved demonized Americans Liberals hate.

You are wrong if you think it is anything new happening now to the Left with the military. The military was advising Reno on site when she fried the people at Waco.

You are only hearing about it now because it is the Left who is the target as they are aiding and abetting the terrorists and so they are making a lot of noise about it. There was not a peep in the MSM when Hillary and Bill did the same exact stuff to the "haters."

I don't care if the government goes after the Left; they will go after whoever is out of power. That is just the way it is. If Hillary gets power she will use the Executive branch in every possible way to go after her political enemies naming them "terrorists" no matter what happens now. And if Hillary gets power, the war against terror - the whole apparatus - will shift from focusing on Islamofascists to American Conservatives.

I thought the military could not spy on citizens by law. Isn't that the reason the data mining ops (like Able Danger) were shut down in regards to the Chicoms?

If this post was directed to me, not by error, you need to review your logic, as your statement has nothing to do with my premise.

I guess I was trying to support your point. Just because they claim to be Quaker doesn't make them innocent. There have been other groups who did horrific things who started out as part of good and decent organizations.

I guess I didn't communicate that well.

That is completely different from our own military spying and collecting data on US citizens, which I believe is illegal.

Yes, it is illegal.

Advocating using the military to spy on US citizens when said citizens disagree with the government's position on an issue.

Interesting... and how would you feel if Clinton had decided that "right-wingers" and Christians needed to be monitored after OKC?

I attended a FEMA sponsored WMD response seminar during the Clinton administration. The focus was 90% on "Militia Organizations" and less than 10% on radical muslim terrorist cells building in the USA right under their noses.

One half of the first day was a "Brady Bill" indoctrination session.

Would do you good to examine the various belief systems (if you can call them that) of the DIFFERENT KINDS OF QUAKERS.

This particular group does not conform to any of the historically Quaker meetings ~ not even to the Comisards.

Long about 1676 the Quakers (located in what is now the United States) actually endangered their non-Quaker neighbors by inviting terrorist attacks.

For ever and a day after that no Quaker meeting has ever been trusted by those knowledgeable of what these guys are willing to do to allow the innocent to die at the hands of murderers.

I guess I was trying to support your point.

Thank you for that, but allow a paranoid (ha ha) to give you some pointers on reading MSM bull.

First there is no documentation that that they were Quakers:

A year ago, at a Quaker Meeting House in Lake Worth, Fla., a small group of activists met to plan a protest of military recruiting at local high schools.

Just because they met at a Quaker meeting house, does not make them Quakers; while there was most probably a Quaker involved. Here is the key:

“This peaceful, educationally oriented group being a threat is incredible,” says Evy Grachow, a member of the Florida group called The Truth Project.

If you go and research the Florida "Truth Project" (it will take awhile as they are kind of buried) you will find they are a communist (oh let us just say socialist) front group.
