What gives you the idea that I was endorsing mob rule? Please consider that in taking your position you may be hasty with some posters and be drawing a different conclusion.

I am questioning you statement that it should not be easy to kill someone. I am attempting to point out that it isn't. His charges arose in 1979, that's not a negligible fact. I would be surprised if you would argue that it was easy for the government to get to this point.

I certainly did not think that in anything I was writing, especially supporting due process which you reference, that I was endorsing mob rule.

While the Governor certainly has the legal authority to give clemency, he does have to face the consequences. Because as for all executive acts, he is answerable to the voters. That doesn't mean mob rule unless the Governor decides that it does. It also doesn't mean necessarily that if the Governor does not grant clemency that it is mob rule.

You are free to call it such. I am free to disagree.

But let's also point out that the courts in California are not the same as courts in red states. So for the appeals court in California to rule 6-0 against lifting the death penalty says something.

No some unknown called Kevin Peter Hall died in 1991. He played the Predator. Carl is hale and hearty AFAIK.

do what Gov. Rion did in IL and grants clemency to everyone on death row

I do not like the unconditional clemency privileges granted the President and Governors. Saw what Clinton and Rion did with it. It's a vestige of the monarchy.

His name was Kevin Peter Hall. He was also Harry the Bigfoot from Harry and the Hendersons. He was a friend of mine, an all-around great guy, and still missed.

He ran unsuccessfully for governor of KY. He was the victim of an overzealous prosecutor, and spent three years in prison before his case was summarily dismissed by a federal court of appeals. He is currently suing the state of KY for false imprisonment.

I have read most of your posts on this topic here, and although I don't agree with you on the bottom line, I can respect your thoughts on the matter and can understand how you formed your opinions on the death penalty.

It is with mixed emotions that I hear the verdict of the court today. What I really wish is that Tookie had not been a selfish, self serving murdering monster in the first place- and then none of us would have to be on this thread. The only way I can settle within myself is to assume that he has reaped what he has sown, and it never was in my hands to begin with.

I don't like it, but I do support the death penalty.

*sigh* I hope this is a lesson to the next person out there....

Apollo Creed was not the Predator in Arnold's movie...he was one of the victims...losing his arm while trying to defend himself with a machine gun.

It's almost an insult to do it now anyway. Why on freaking earth does it take 22 YEARS to carry out a sentence? Madness and an insult to the victim's families.

I don;t blame you, I blame the AP. Actually I don't blame anyone. Sorry. Sometimes the MSM milks things for all they can get. A story can be 'breaking' several times to maximize the awesomeness of television.

Kevin Peter Hall (9 May 1955 - 10 April 1991) is an African-American actor famous for his roles as the 'monsters' in Harry and The Hendersons (1987), Predator (1987), and Predator 2 (1990). He mostly played monster roles due to his extremely tall stature (he stood 7'2 1/2").

He married 227 actress Alaina Reed in 1989 after appearing on the program. They had two kids before his death in 1991 from AIDS; he received the disease from a botched blood transfusion late in 1990.

He also reprised his role as Harry on the TV series version of Harry and The Hendersons before he passed away.
