I was just called by an NBC pollster
nbc ^ | 12/10/05 | me

I was just called by an NBC pollster. I found it interesting that I was first asked if I think the country is headed in the right or wrong direction, and only after I answered "right," did the man ask my age, and then tell me, "Oh, I'm sorry. The computer is screening for age groups and we're not looking for opinions from your age group at this time. Maybe we'll call you for your opinion later."

Now, it seems to me that they're screening for right way/wrong way opinions as opposed to age group. Why else would they have asked that question before asking my age.

I suspect the computer is programmed to allow a certain, lower, percentage of right way responses than wrong way, so they can report that the American people believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, and use that poll "result" as a club with which to beat this adminstration.

THere are many things I believe are bringing this country in the wrong direction. I mean, the media themselves, including NBC, are the very ones I hold most responsible for the country headed the wrong way, but I was not about to give them ammunition to make things even worse.

This would absolutely not happen in a valid sample survey. These people are deliberately skewing the results.

It would be GREAT if we could find someone who gets called, responds 'wrong way' (the response they want), then gives the same age group. If that respondent don't get thrown out, I'd say that's rock-solid evidence of the dishonesty of the pollsters.

Maybe you should have then said "Oh, I'm sorry, I lied about my age...what age are you looking for exactly?".

"It could have been an honest mistake – but you are right. If screening for age group that would have been the first question."

If nbc was doing the poll, it could NOT have been an HONEST mistake. You can't have nbc and honest in the same sentence. It is antecdotal evidence for what we all know is true. The msm runs slanted polls, with the outcomes predetermined by methods, and then runs the "poll" numbers as objective news. It is lying taken to an art form with "poll numbers" to prove it. All bullship. They new media has given us the ability see, hear and most important, DISCUSS in an open forum, the truth. That is what is killing tha ratings of the msm. We not only know, we discuss it. And truth spreads, slowly to be sure, but it is happening. Facts, logic, truth, are hard to suppress.

You should contact Hannity and let him bring national attention to this.

NBC Polls 'random adults'.

They oversample Democrats versus Republicans.

They undersample Republicans.

They hide Democrats in their Independent column.

They ask leading questions.

Here, they reject you after you say the country is headed in the 'right direction'.

A real pollster will ask you who you are first and then ask the pertinent questions.

They asked the right track / wrong track in order to fulfill the predetermined results of their FAKE POLL.

It is propaganda from the left.

My tag-line says it all.

You made the mistake of answering in English.

Well, whenever called by a pollster, always tell them what you think of them instead. It is about as useful as answering their idiotic questions, but more gratifying.

Mr. Hart appears frequently on major television programs that discuss public policy issues, including Meet the Press, The Today Show, and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. And in 1989, along with Robert Teeter, Mr. Hart was selected by NBC News and The Wall Street Journal to conduct all the public opinion polling for these institutions, which was the first time any outside firm has been retained by a news organization to conduct surveys bearing the name of the sponsoring organization.

It is pretty common knowledge the lib media loads the questions to attain the result supporting their and their lib pals agenda.

I love getting calls like that. I go Hannibal Lecter on them and start answering their questions with very personal questions in a way that they're compelled to answer in a revealing way:

Pollster - "Do you think the country's heading in the wrong direction?"

Flagg - "Well, it all would seem to be relevant to one's own opinion of what wrong direction might be. For example, if you're still picturing that little boy who lives down the hall from your apartment door to be your next lover, or victim, that might be considered a wrong direction. Unless, of course, you've already chosen that path and your other neighbors haven't discovered it yet."

Pollster - "I just need a yes or no answer, please."

Flagg - "Oh, I apologize. I may have struck a nerve with that example. However, your tone seems to betray the sense that you're hiding something. Perhaps even, ashamed of something you may have done in your past. Something....Wicked and tawdry. Your voice reveals much to me. Perhaps that little child rejected you and you are compelled to do something about it. Something....Wicked and even a little bit....evil."

I leave the bums in shambles.

You said it all. I don't see why anyone would give NBC the benefit of the doubt on this. They just want to show a bunch of phone numbers dialed for their phoney polls. As to wwhat the results are, they have been pre-determined.

Never, ever believe the lying scum media. If they tell you the sky is blue. Go look for yourself.

Why would age group matterif its a cross section of the united states? I would rather over poll and then figure for party affiliation and age group later. At least thats what I would do, I'm n polster though.

Hart was the democrat in that duet. Bob Teeter, owner of Market Opinion Research, was a well known republican. In fact, both were well respected within their own party.

Yes, this is a typical tactic of the dying socialist "mainstream" news cabal to get poll results which fit their agenda. Nothing new about this, although they do appear to be getting more brazen. Forged memos don't work anymore.

I think I'd email NBC and ask them about it. Seriously. They're getting a little gunshy these days (and a mention of your participation in online political discussion would be a nice nudge).

And perhaps cc the CEO of General Electric when you do.
