John Kerry Blames Rush Limbaugh for Iraq Blooper
Failed presidential candidate John Kerry blamed top conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh Friday morning for the uproar over his claim that U.S. troops were terrorizing Iraqi women and children.
"You know, the only people who are trying to make anything out of that, to be honest with you, are Rush Limbaugh and a few people on the right," Kerry told radio host Don Imus.
On Sunday Kerry told CBS's "Face the Nation" that there was "no reason ... that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the - of - the historical customs, religious customs - Iraqis should be doing that."
Asked if he meant to say that American soldiers were guilty of terrorism, Kerry claimed: "Obviously not."
What he meant to say, he insisted, was: "After three years, Iraqis ought to be capable of searching a home ... It's inexplicable that when the biggest killers in Iraq are suicide bombers and IEDs, improvised explosive devices, that we're still on the front lines going into homes and going out in the dead of night. And it scares people."
The one-time top Democrat said that he'd like to see U.S. troops redeployed "in a way that accomplishes the goal but does it without needlessly putting troops at risk and incurring greater difficulties in feeding the insurgency."
Citing a year-old Washington Post report that claimed Iraqis resented home searches by U.S. troops, Kerry said his "terrorizing" comment was meant to be constructive.
"That resentment hurts our soldiers," he told Imus. "I'm trying to help our soldiers. We all are."

I completely understand. What he actually said and what he meant to said are only off by a few syllables.
Over thirty years he's getting better, though. More concise. He used 'ravage' three times. How many times did he use 'terrorize'?
I sent the post to Rush, too, hopefully he will see it and use the argument on the air.....
Gotta point, there.
A damn big one.
Western Mass is fairly conservative.
The trouble with New England is twofold.
Many good conservatives have moved south.
Liberal colleges are spread around like poison ivy for the mind.
Thanks for the ping!
bumping up
'Cause there ain't no purple heart in it for him this time around. Only the yellow heart that came in the package.
No effin' way is John Effin' Kerry going to sign that. Effin' was the first DC hack I ever noticed not bothering to answer questions on the Sunday talk shows. When it was his turn to answer he go off on a tangent, he would say what ever he pleased. He believes in the power of his spoken word to gull and influence people. This was 12-15 years ago. He's been slimy arrogant b@stard for years. He was my Senator.
FROM THE INTERNET: An SF 180 autographed by John Kerry indisputably will show that the Navy has disgorged itself of every paper bearing his name. The SF 180 also could free anything still lodged among the Pentagon's papers that a less formal "request" might have missed. What's good for the donkey is good for the elephant: Bush should sign an SF 180, too.
The SF 180 can be downloaded at www.vetrecs.archives.gov or faxed on demand via 301-837-0990 (request document 2255). Concerned Americans can generate SF 180s and personally hand them to Senator Kerry as he campaigns. This will give him multiple opportunities to bring a verifiable measure of openness to this issue.
The great thing about the Democrats is that they can "compartmentalize". That's what Clinton's cronies said about him shortly after he started his first term. Meaning, apparently, that you can tell lies in this compartment, and conflicting lies in another compartment, and be perfectly content in either of those alternate universes. And never worry that the truth is somewhere else. After all, as an earlier compartmentalizer asked, "What is truth?" Or, in Bill's words, "It depends on the meaning of 'is'."
Or, as John Kerry is saying, "Sure I said something stupid and anti-American, but the only one making anything of it is Rush Limbaugh. Why can't we just accept what I said without critiquing it, and move on?" The Democrat motto today seems to be: Truth doesn't matter. Feelings matter. That's the way I feel, and that counts for truth in my universe.
That fact alone makes me look with dismay at those 48.8% of our nation's voters.
Good!

Thanks, freema. I detest Kerry, too.
I wish he'd keep his mouth shut, so we wouldn't be reminded that he's at loose on our continent.
