DRUDGE EXCLUSIVE: GOP TO LAUNCH 'WHITE FLAG' DEM ATTACK
The Drudge Report ^ | December 8, 2005 | Matt Drudge

Posted on 12/08/2005 3:46:41 PM PST by new yorker 77

The DRUDGE REPORT has learned from a top GOP operative that the Republican National Committee will provide state parties with a web video prior to release tomorrow afternoon that shows a white flag waving over images of Democrat leaders making anti-war remarks.

The ad is in response to the controversial comments Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean and 2004 Democratic Presidential nominee John Kerry made earlier in the week.

A Democratic strategist who had the web ad described to her said, “This is way over the top but we have no one to blame but Dean, Kerry and others who continue to pander to the anti-war activists within our party.”

The web video advances the Republican contention that the Democrats only have a “retreat and defeat” message on the war in Iraq.

The video highlights the effect Democrats can have on the morale of U.S. soldiers.

One Republican strategist familiar with the ad said, “The Democrats, especially Howard Dean have a way of trying to turn the tables and say ‘that’s not what I meant’ – its just those ‘evil Republicans’ This video will make them crazy – it reinforces what they really believe with what they actually said – and that is devastating for the Democratic Party.”

Howard Dean is the best thing to happen to the Republican Party. It is a gift they will be sure to squander.

have not donated all year.

I may have to reconsider in 2006.

Same here. If they go through with this, I'll send money again and then maybe I'll be put back on the Christmas card mailing list.

Britt Hume played a clip of Pelosi tonight and posed this Question to the pannel: Is this a Party leader trying to reconcile the contradictory comments of fellow democrats or is this a woman that is not very smart?(paraphrased)

Crushing by elephant

Crushing by elephant was a common sentence for those condemned to death throughout south and southeast Asia, particularly India, for over 4,000 years. The Romans and Carthaginians also used this method on occasions, and it is mentioned by Josephus and the deuterocanonical book of 3 Maccabees in connection with the Egyptians....

Kerry hates the soldiers. Obvious by his words and deeds. He only whishes that he had been a real soldier instead of a whiny wimp with fake injuries. He's dispicable.

Murtha, Dean et al..."We know what we said, but it's not what we meant. What we meant is different from what we actually said unless you nail us for what we meant, then we really didn't mean it which is different from what we said and what we said it meant..etc..etc..etc..."

Web Ad Translation: Basically seen by no one. Also see, Preaching to the Choir.

So true. It's so hard to get behind an organization that's had so many missteps recently.

But...at least it's a forward step.

"web videos" get on the news shows and the Dems are forced to respond to them. It's like turning the lights on and seeing the cockroaches scatter.

This will last about five minutes, then the Republicans will start backtracking and apologizing.

I agree with your take. Timing is everything. If the Republican move against the Democrats too soon, the Democrats and their friends will have time to blunt it before the next election.

But we are just now entering the 2006 election cycle, and it appears this administration is preparing to use the Bully Pulpit.

The Democrats will have a difficult time back tracking. Much of what they have said, they have said on camera. Their own words will come back to haunt them.

I love it when a plan comes together.

The video highlights the effect Democrats can have on the morale of U.S. soldiers.

If the video is convincing in this aspect, then it is going to leave a big mark on the dims. It would re-frame the debate in a shape that'll make the dims squeal like stuck pigs.

Just wait until a lot of these soldiers come home from Iraq. What are the dims going to do? Deny them the acknowledgment of the successes and victories in Iraq? I cannot not think of a dumber political position to be in.
