1"-3" is a blizzard in Maryland.
Hell, at 9am Monday they decided to close the schools here two hours early. This was in response to a forecast that predicted 1" to 2" beginning around 3pm and lasting into the night. It flurried until the evening and we got about 1" of accumulation which is now mostly gone.

You're posting from the *parking lot*?!? T Mobile's Sidekick II can Freep. My old Blackberry (which was blue oddly) was nerf compared to this thing.
I was customer #2 in the Circuit City. The other guy was watching the Blue Man group do something with an old "The Who" song at a retarted decibel level on a surround sound with a very high end HD monitor. Very cool
But what about the economy???? I thought the economy was in the toilet? :)

We had one in 1978 in New England. Sounds about the same and as a kid it was great fun.
Snow forts, week off from school, huge National Guard payloaders clearing the streets, my dad up on the roof shoveling off the snow.
Don't miss it at all though.

Above freezing in Anchorage and above zero in Fairbanks. Might be a mild winter after all.

I had a wireless laptop card that I used to access a network camera set up in my house so I could check on my dogs during a day trip to Roanoke.
It was *awful*.
The connection dragged and the software kept locking up the laptop.
[snd, yes, site junkie that I am, I *did* pop into FR now and then]...:D
"But what about the economy???? I thought the economy was in the toilet? :)"
Yup.
It sucks so bad I had to get a 42" Hitachi plasma instead of the 50" one.
[I'll take a pity party if everybody brings gifts]
If the economy is "bad", I must be hallucinating the endless throngs of shoppers.

Time for pompous ones to let everyone know that 3-6 inches of snow: "'Tis but a scratch"....

I wonder if they are going to have the drama queens Shep Smith and Whoraldo out in the "blizzard of the century" to report.

We have been running below normal for quite a while. But I would rather have the 20's rather than this freeze/thaw/freeze slide-on-the-road. Even the days of below 0°F are looking better than this mess.

The winter of 76-77 brought the only true blizzard of my lifetime. We had 3 feet of snow on level ground and didn't go to school for more than a week.
I remember that well. I had to shovel out our sidewalk and I remember it looked like I'd carved a tunnel the snow was so deep. Was also a lot of fun trying to drive around in it.

Sorry, my browser did something weird on me. I had copied and pasted all the posters on this thread who questioned the blizzard description, and added each one to the To: text box. After I posted, their names were missing, and only yours remained. Sheesh, it makes me look like a dummy. Sorry.

Okay, seriously, three inches of snow qualifies as a storm where? Maui?

Southern folk consider 3 inches of snow a "two loafer".

If the economy is "bad", I must be hallucinating the endless throngs of shoppers. I have that same thought every year. News says "economy is bad, Bush is Bad, guns 'r bad, m-kay", and then I have to park in BFE to get into Walmart, W gets more votes than anyone ever, and I have to wait in line to get a permit to buy a new pistol at the Sherrif's office. The "news" has gotten old
I got a 46" Toshiba LCD projection with DLP - the screen is a whole lot tougher and can take the abuse of my kids. The plasmas were quite brilliant at the store, though.
