...HEAVY SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EST FRIDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A HEAVY SNOW WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EST FRIDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
A STORM SYSTEM WILL DEVELOP OVER THE OHIO VALLEY AND MID ATLANTIC STATES TODAY AND BRING SNOW INTO CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA THIS EVENING. THE SNOW WILL START IN THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS JUST AFTER SUNSET THIS EVENING...AND QUICKLY SPREAD NORTH AND EAST TO COVER THE REST OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA. THE SNOW WILL FALL HEAVILY AT TIMES THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.
BY SUNRISE ON FRIDAY...5 TO 8 INCHES OF A FLUFFY AND DRY SNOW WILL COVER MOST OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA...WITH 8 TO 10 INCHES POSSIBLE ON THE RIDGES.
THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS BEFORE NOON. ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS FRIDAY MORNING COULD PUSH THE TOTALS CLOSE TO OR EVEN OVER ONE FOOT.
A HEAVY SNOW WARNING MEANS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF SNOW IS FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL... KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND A CELLULAR PHONE IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE YOU BECOME STRANDED.BEWARE! WHITE DEATH KILLSTORM 2005!

1-3" does not a "blizzard" make.
A blizzard advisory and warning, oh my! It's not just snow when you are scrabbling for ratings. You have to stay tuned for the latest details. This winter weather (in December) is a very important and alarming development. It's a national weather crisis.

We got .001 inches of frozen drizzle in the Austin area and all hell broke loose. The greatest snowfall I've experienced around here was about 9 inches but, that was 20 yrs. ago.
