Update:

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The trial of Saddam Hussein resumed Wednesday after a lengthy delay but without the former president, who had declared the day before that he would not take part in an "unjust" court.

The seven other defendants and Saddam's lawyers were present in the courtroom when Chief Judge Rizgar Mohammed Amin convened the session at 3 p.m., about four hours late.

Amin said the court would inform Saddam about the proceedings that took place during his absence.

Saddam Hussein refuses to take part in the audience of Wednesday

BAGHDAD - the judges of the High Iraqi penal Court and the lawyers of Saddam Hussein are brought together Wednesday before the audience because of the refusal of the former Iraqi president to take part in it, one learned near the court.

Saddam Hussein had reproached Tuesday evening the court for having decided to hold a new audience Wednesday, stressing that after those of Monday and Tuesday, it did not have any more clean clothes and could not smoke nor to go. "Go to the devil!", it had launched in conclusion.

Why in the hell is this judge giving Saddam a CHOICE about attending his trial? Strap his murderous @ss to a courtroom chair and gag him if necessary, but don't let him pull this crap! What the hell is going on in this kangaroo court anyway?

as long as he is present for his exxecution all is well. the more I see this trial the more I think Saddam was a *bleep* hiding behind guns and absolute power. take away the power and look what he has become... no cojones to face his victims and take it like a man

He has the b@lls to complain about an "unjust court",,,,seems to me he's being treated a hell of a lot better than he treated his people, unjust court my a$$, I'm confused as to why someone didn't cuff him and haul his a$$ into court,,,,,if one of us decided to tell the judge to go to hell what would have happened to us?

A friend of mine, and fellow commander in the battalion had ordered a marginal soldier to wash his vehicle, which the soldier did. The soldier reported back to him that he had completed washing the vehicle, and my friend dismissed him. It was not until later in the day when my friend had to go somewhere that he realized that he really should have specified "rinsing" in addition to "washing."

That reminded me of an incident from years and years ago.

I convince my younger brother (we were maybe 4 and 6) that my fathers hired man's car needed washing. We proceeded to take buckets of mud and smeared the car as high as we could reach.

When Dad and the hired man came out of the shed they had been working in we were as peoud was we could be. We must have been really stupid, cuz Dad naturally blew a gasket. The car got a second washing pronto!

Duct tape his mouth, put a hood on him, shackle him, and bring him back to court. Force him to listen to all witness testimonies and prosecutor statements. Then fry his XXX.

Since when does a prisoner decide if and when he chooses to go into a courtroom for his trial? That is why we have guards or bailiffs or police persons, to escort, physically if necessary, the prisoner into the court.

Great minds think alike.

Of course, so do not so great minds. Otherwise how could one explain the prevalence of idiot socialist ideals among the liberal mindset. I guess in our case, great minds think alike, but when it comes to idiot liberal socialism, not so great minds are easily led.

But I digress ...

At least you bothered to go out and find a picture. Whenever I try that, I always get some "no external links allowed" image.

Absolutely. I totally agree.

Drag him in, sit his ass in the chair and bind and gag him if need be.

But I want him there every friggin' day so he can hear what he and his fellow psychopaths have done.

The other trumpet the MSM was blowing yesterday was having that idiot Ramsey Clark on giving hisd dissertation on how "lives are at stake" and the trial is unfair

Thank heavens I'm not the only one who's seeing this (though no surprise to me that it's you who gets it). The MSM is stumbling all over themselves to show Clark at the trial, and playing his soundbites "Well... Saddam HAD to! He WAS the President, and... they, they tried to kill him! It's just like our Secret Service in America - who have knocked me over a time or two!"

Oh - is that all Saddam is accused of doing? Knocking people OVER Ramsey? Brother.

Hi CGK:

Well' I'd hope others "get it" beside you and I, but, yes, I definitely feel as you do. Saddam Hussein is a monster. Period. They ought to drag him to his trial and make sure he hears what he and his regime did to these poor victims. And, Ramsey Clark, besides being an ignoramus, is a traitor. Period. And he should be dealt with as such.

"I'll bet he shows up for his hanging. :-)"

That was his second point. He's not showing up for his hanging, either.

Saddam is a popularly known psychopathic murderer.

You'd think that would be the case. He's definitely a psychopathic murderer. I'm not so sure about the "popularly known"part.

There are some who think the real psychopathic murderer is George Bush (Before anyone makes any inference from this, I'm NOT saying I'm one of them; admission of the existence of fools does not mean I am a fool). And there are definitely people willing to claim George Bush is the real psychopathic murderer in an attempt to put themselves back into power.

All I am saying is that putting Saddam into a Hannibal Lecter costume will definitely associate him in the popular mindset as a psychopathic killer using popular imagery that the above mentioned aspirants to power would find difficult to dismiss.

OK FReepers I haven't read thru all the responses so someone by now may have come up wih this ... Ramsey Clark? Doesn't this reek of liberal tactics? First Clark and his cohorts walk out of the courtroom Monday stating they felt security was lacking ... on Wednesday, Saddam refuses to be seated ... stating his trial is a sham. Come'on FReepers catch a clue ... remember a couple of weeks ago in Washington when the Senate liberal 'Rats pulled their stunt with a closed Senate session? Same tactic ... sort of like the talking points they put out to their liberal friends in the mainstream media ... everyone preaching, or acting from the same page in the liberal play book.

<< I guess you had to be there. >>

I guess if he wasn't allowed to be there his being aloud would make it easier for those who were allowed to be there to hear him being aloud from where he was at?

,,, he doesn't have to be there. Strap him to a seat suspended over the crusher he used to kill so many and he can participate in the trial by video conference. There will never be a time when the shithead will admit he's not in control. It's only his ego and an overdose of bravado that's getting him the headlines. Hilter did the decent thing and iced himself... clearly, this guy hasn't got the measure of a true dictator pushed into a corner.
