Rev. Dr. Nuhad Tomeh, Presbyterian Church USA Ambassador to Hezbollah
Jewish Russian Telegraph ^ | Dec 3, 2005 | JRT

Posted on 12/05/2005 4:05:51 PM PST by Presbyterian Reporter

Now, let's meet Rev. Dr. Nuhad Tomeh, an employee of Presbyterian Church USA. It looks like his main mission is to be full Representative and Ambassador to Hezbollah (Party of God). Whenever Presbyterians have a contact with the terrorist organization Nuhad Tome is always listed as a facilitator: EMEU in May 2002 SFTS in June 2004 Ron Stone in October 2004 Worley in October 2005 More, October 20, 2005 ADL's press release is a correct first step. This is good but not nearly enough. We are demanding from ADL a full-scale attack on the pro-terrorist activities of the mailine liberal Christian denominations. How about replacing a campaign against attempts to "Christianize America", with a full scale campaign against people who provide comfort and support to forces who plan to TERRORIZE America?

Abe Foxman, at $412,000 a year, what have you done for us lately?

Is Abe Foxman the only person qualified to lead ADL in defending Jewish interests?

You gotta be kidding.

The leaders of the modern democratic party and mainline churches, have made excuses for evil for so long that they cannot recognize evil anymore. The closest thing to it in their vocabulary would be "someone who wears fur."

Are there any discussions within churches belonging to PCUSA regarding the direction the church leaders are taking the church?

I would be interested in hearing from FReepers about this.

Anybody who negotiates/communicates with terrorists is scum in my book. That includes a great number of people.

"Are there any discussions within churches belonging to PCUSA regarding the direction the church leaders are taking the church?"

I suspect most of the discussions within churches is how to downplay what the leadership is doing. I have not seen Kirkpatrick's latest letter. It will most likely give ministers instructions on how to answer questions from the congregation.

Subscribe to a newspaper/newsletter titled "The Presbyterian Layman." It has been tending to the battles among the Presbyterian church for quite some time and do a pretty good job of defending the traditional (that is, not the political-activist) mission of the church.

I'm a member of a PCA church. Bible-believing Presbyterians left the PCUSA in the 1920s and thereafter.

I just googled J. Gresham Machen. This link looked educational regarding Christianity and Liberalism.

From experience the local churches would like to sweep what the PCUSA does. They generally tell you that what you're getting in the news is slanted against PCUSA.

The next general assembly will be the straw that breaks the camels back. The left will take control. The church is ready for a major split.

If the membership knew the churches position on the major issues they wouldn't take in enough money to pay the electric bill.

Your assessment is similar to mine. PCUSA ministers are adroit at sweeping issues under the rug, minimizing the significance, or shooting the messenger. Such actions are not surprising as these ministers are graduates of leftist PCUSA seminaries.

Most Presbyterians get their facts from the Presbyterian Layman at http://www.layman.org

The failure of the ministers to speak out against the apostasy of the PCUSA leadership is why the PCUSA is losing 50,000 members per year.

The good news is that the 50,000 who are leaving can find a good church home in PCA churches.

More folks are leaving the PCUSA than are joining the PCA, EPC, OPC and ARP combined.

You are correct. In 2004 the PCUSA had 132,000 people who became members or transferred from one PCUSA church to another. The PCUSA had 175,000 people who dropped their membership or transferred from one PCUSA church to another.

There was a net loss of 43,000 in 2004. Given that most PCUSA churches have aged congregations, I would estimate that death accounts for a large portion of the net loss.

There are still a few Bible-believing congregations within the PCUSA, and my (small) church is one of them. But we are becoming increasingly distressed about the direction the leadership is taking, and the anti-Israel stance is a potential "camel's-back-breaking straw" for us, since we have a long-standing "Prayer for Israel" group in place. We'd think more seriously about leaving the denomination if it weren't for the property issue.

Thank you for the link it has some great information. I used to belong to a PCUSA church and now belong to a nondenominational. I number of people that have belonged to that church have left, I do no think it is because of the politics of PCUSA...it had a lot to do with issues of that particular church....

He confirmed to the newspaper that a meeting was held last June between Al-Zarqawi and a Lebanese fugitive, Emad Mughania, at one of Al-Quds corps centers in Kermanshah providence in western Iran. The source said Mughania played an influential role in forming the Al-Mahdi Army. Al-Mahdi Army belongs to the strict Shia religious cleric, Muqtada Al-Sadr, and trains its members in camps inside Iran. He also mentioned the entrance of Shia fighters from Lebanon to Iraq dressed as religious studies students. These fighters then join Al-Madi Army under the supervision of Emad Mughania. Mughania underwent a cosmetic surgery recently in a sanitarium for the revolutionary guards in northern Iran to change his face. This is the 5th surgery for Mughania, who's been chased by Western and Arabic intelligence organizations for a number of years now. The source said Mughania kept his relationships with Aymen Al-Thawahiri, the number-two man in Al-Qaida organization despite the difficulty of contacting him lately. He added that Mughania submitted a report early this year to chief of the revolutionary guards intelligence after a visit to Iraq. The report outlined the importance of expanding a framework of collaboration between Al-Mahdi Army and Al-Zarqawi's group. Muqtada has lost his standing among the Iraqi shia, especially Al-Najaf, while gaining more supporters in the Sunni triangle.")
